This is a good point.

Plus Tesla will have to go through months if not years of testing which just doesn't apply to the hobby industry.

They do not seem to have any 6s 3700-ah. Gonna have to weigh mine and see how much of a difference 4000 are.

It is entirely possible this is a sales ploy.

5C is still an improvement on 3C though. I would be terrified to charge at 15C anyway...

Looks like 104grams heavier than the A-spec's I'm running in my 480XX. 30g heavier than my Pulse 4500's

Off topic but for 3700 the ASpecs have performed better than my Pulse 3700's all season. They come down much cooler and rest at a higher voltage.

Gens Ace and Glacier have been 5C for ages as well.

Ian from HK said in the RC Groups thread they can be charged at 10C.

30C continuous discharge. Queue two minute 700 size flights (once ESCs and motors catch up). And for 1000 cycles.

I read that more sizes will come out later. But you could put two 3s packs together or just use the 6s4Ah packs with less run-time.

One of the major advantages with graphene batteries...
The graphene LiPos are supposed to live longer. Lower R(int)
and less heat generation means slower aging and more cycles.

I will get (at least) one to try, but it will be a while before I know
how much better they are.

Regards,
Bo

How many people are really going to charge their 5000mah batteries at more than 25A per battery ?

25A x 25V = 625W

Realistically my current Charging rig with 4 PL8's would be limited to 4 x 5000mah 6S batteries at 3C.

I would need a 4kW generator running at 240V and a 2nd 2kW PS to charge 4 batteries at 7C each.

I can lug a 2kW generator to the airfield, but past that they get BIG and heavy. They aren't horribly expensive, just hard to transport.

In your house you would need to have chargers running on different circuits.

I'm kinda surprised at the prices. They're good.

Usually - Regular Turnigy batteries are "Good to Really Good" and priced like complete pieces of crap... (So they're a killer buy. Value off the charts.)

Turnigy releases a true high end battery - A-Spec - They're priced really close to Pulse for the same C rating. Ok... I don't necessarily think the A-Spec's will be better...

So it is a bit odd to me that the Graphene batteries, if way better, get priced out like a "cost of living increase" over the regular Turnigy's. I'd have to think they're better, but there is something not being shared somewhere... (Not sure if other vendors use that tech, but if they do, then they are WAY WAY upcharging for it... and HobbyKing will bring that to a screeching halt.)

HobbyKing are good folks... Not saints, but good folks. They somehow popped out a set of 65C batteries for cheap, that have longer lifespans... That's a gold mine.

Very true I doubt I'll be going higher than 4c. The test will be longevity and performance if they can handle more cycles with less of a loss over time that would be nice. Not sure how the weight will work out though that's the only downside I can see.
