Default What length to make links with the low FLB head?

Hey guys just doing my Mini Protos build. I am at the stage of completing the head, the manual states to make the links from the blade grips to the swash 31.1mm long, I am assuming this would be different for the low flybarless head right? What length should I make them?

I made mine 10mm smaller as I measured the difference between the two heads. You have to use the smaller bars in the head kit

Default 21.5

It is somewhere between 20 and 21. Will depend on how well your swash was made. Try 21.5 to start and then you can trim from there or shorten them if needed.

31.1mm - 10mm = 21.1mm

Default Short Balls

Yeah, 21.1.. but with MKS DS95 and short balls 21.1 is too short. Better to make them long and then tighten them if needed then to make them too short and lengthen them.. we are only talking 1/2mm.. but 21.1 is way too short and requires a boatload of trim. Thats why I was thinking that the lower arms are allready a tich short at manual spec cause it doesn't quite center the swash at servo 90.. but its all close enough.

I don't even look at the manuals suggestions any more, I just do them my way.
1. Servo horns as close to 90 @ 0 pitch.
2. Servo to swash links should be adjusted so that the swash is level and the AR pin is in the centre of the AR Bracket.
3. Swash to blade grip links should be adjusted so that they are as close to same length as each other and so that when both blades are folded back over the boom they are parallel.
4. Now that you have 0 pitch sorted, when using the the digital pitch guage, go to 0 pitch on tx and set relative 0, now you can make you pitch and cyclic settings based on actual 0 on the heli.

Thanks . Anyone else have issue where when at full negative pitch and then using aileron the aileron servo control arms will hit the canopy mounts? Is this ok? They still move ok but I can see them rubbing it

Yah, that happens. You don't want them touching, so gently bend them a little toward the boom. Might have to take some fiberglass off the bottom center of the canopy to make it reach and not bend them back.

Use the short balls on the swash, as per the fb instructions, not only does it give more clearance but better setup and flying options.
You might also notice that at the limits of swash movement the ar pin is close to falling out, use a longer bolt and add another bearing to be safe.

Now come across another issue. The tail guide pulley bushing is way to big to fit throught the bearings in the tail guide pulley. Another common issue apparently....

I had that problem too. I cut down the shorter main blade shaft to make a temporary one

Thanks guys for your help. Anyone got any photos of how they ran the centre servo cable to the FBL unit? Trying to find the best way and also keep it out of the main gear and also the other servos arm

That's an easy servo cable to route

Into the frame slot directly below the servo, then use the ready made cable tie slots along the frame to get it to the back.
Wiring this heli is great and was thought out well, compared to the 360 the mini p is easy.
The wiring on the warp was so ugly I could not even being myself to take a photo of it, lol.

Thanks Rossco. Pretty much what I did, except I bought the cable back out where the open space where the main gear is and ran it on the outside. Yours looks better I will do that.
