Default NAZA-H power source

Hi there,

I don't want to use the BEC since it doesn't support 2s lipo.
I would like to connect the 2s lipo/life to the electronics, where do I connect it to the NAZA? through the reciever maybe or to the same port which the BEC was supposed to go into?

Thanks
Elad.

I'm running a JR VR6010 regulator with one output to the X1 port of the Naza, the second to the battery port of my Futaba Rx

NightFlyr,

I don't see why the BEC when supplied with 2S could not supply 5.8-6.0v. I would not recommend it. Why not just supply 3S on a low capacity lipo. I have a few of the 3S 1A lipos around that I use for a variety of applications.

I didn't design the Naza BEC, I only posted the operational specifications.
Accordingly it operates correctly on a minimum of 11V.

I run a 2S 5000 pack for my electronics. The VR6010 allows safe usage of a 2S pack and supplies more than sufficient power.

Neither did I, but the users can make an informed decision. 2S or 3S and above with BEC. I use 6S and have to use a BEC or a separate lipo. I want to use a single source of power. Some do not. It is personal

Thank you for the info.
My question about the blow-up was because as it seems the naza supplies electricity to the RECIEVER, and I thought connecting a power source to both devices might be a problem...

Edit: I wrote ESC and actually was refering to the Reciever!! sorry about that

No the BEC is outside of the ESC. You can connect the BEC to a separate power supple, a 3S lipo and above. I connect mine to the flight lipo. The BEC can support up to 52v. A lot more than my 550 or the 800. I hope this helps you. I would hate to have you connect something that will not support the Naza. That could be disastrous and not what I, as well as others, want.

I edited the post..by mistake wrote ESC when actually refering to reciever..

So to be clear - I can use a 2s lipo and supply power to the Naza and power to the reciever seperately?

Thank you and sorry about the confusion..

Elad.

Yes you can run a AR7100 and the Naza - H on a 2S according to the specs with out issue.
You will need to either,
Run dual leads from the 2S LiPo, one to the EC3 input of the AR7100, another using a servo connector to the X1 port of the Naza - H
Or
Power your Rx through the EC3 and route a unregulated (8.4V) lead ( if there is one usable) to the X1 port of the Naza.

Looking at the outputs of the AR7100, I would not suggest you try using the 5V regulated output, you may be able to isolate the signal and grounds, but do not use the +5V regulated.

If you power the Naza, it will power the Rx. You do not have to power the Rx separately.

Does the thin servo wire which goas in to the X1 port enough to handle the current?
It seems to thin to handle the Naza + servos + RX..

Am I correct ...
Your using a AR7100 Rx?
If so, you need to be careful on how you power it.
If you run power to the Naza and feed it to the Rx via the interconnections, you will be back feeding power to your Rx.
What will happen from doing this... I can not say.
The AR7100 is designed to be powered from its EC3 power connector, back feeding power to its outputs may cause issues.
