AWESOME video.... thanks man.

I've seen a lot of these demo videos and though Kenny is (IMO) the prodigy of 3D flight- that was the fastest helicopter I've ever seen.

I especially noted the 360 blades, 460mx motor for a positive.

And the negative was the ungoverned HS- which probably means the same Align ESC.
And the DS 415 servos. Which I think have too much play in the gears.

But an otherwise stellar bird that will no doubt be the next big thing.

WoW

3600 RPM on a 360mm blade is very very fast. I sure hope the tail gear ratio is not designed around people flying with headspeeds like that.

seems like a perfect heli to come with the new mini talon esc from castle.

I hope they offer different tail ratios. I would really appreciate some options. High rpms are fun, but cause a lot of wear and damage compared to lower headspeeds. A 450 can do plenty of hard 3d at 3000 and lower.

whats wrong with ungoverned ? when you putting down the smack down like that. its my preference for the 450 is to fly it ungoverned

Nothing is wrong with ungoverned. My Pro is a flat 90.

I was referring to the Align ESC and its horrendous governor mode.

I was hoping that Align would include the new Talon ESC. I don't think its going to happen.

The video showed an Align 45 amp ESC, didn't make any mention to what features it would have. I just took it they were choosing to run it flat out(no governor)

I sure hope they didn't mess with the tail gear ratio, or if they did it will be an easy mod to go back to what we have now?

i just look at it as they ARE align and they do know what their doing so whatever they release im sure will be top notch as pretty much all of the recent helis are... looks sweet to me.

I agree. I never like a governor on my 450. Secondly, people are making it sound like 3600 head speed is unreal for 360 blades, personally I don't think it's all that high for todays standards.

I love that it has a bigger (opps better) tail servo.

Can't wait for it to be released.

525 is still a mid size servo. Same size tail servo as the 450 pro/v2/dfc etc.

Also, I don't think 3600 is too fast, I would just like the option of running a lower headspeed and still have good tail authority. I use my 450s as practice helis so they crash a lot. Crashing with high headspeeds causes more damage so I would like options for running lower headspeeds.... 3000 can still get the job done very well. Although high headspeeds are fun and I love ripping up the sky as much as anyone, the majority of people I know from our club (and many others) would not benefit from running super high headspeeds.

That's a great heli in my book. Gotta give Align credit for improving quality. Haters will have fun tearing this new guy apart, but who really cares? 450 size helis do better without governor. I'm ready to add this baby to my fleet. Bring it on, Align!

Curious why you guys don't like governors on a 450? I changed my 450 Pro from a basic ESC to my Ice Lite, then enabled its governor. I think it's great, I don't see any downsides. I get more consistent flights, with the same feel at the start of a pack, and the end.

While 3600 is at the upper end it's not crazy fast head speed.

I think it is personal preference on the gov issue. I don't like how govs fly on my electric helis, only my e7 & nitros run govs. I run my 450s, 550s and 600 all w/o gov.

I fly governed at 3000 or 3300RPM 100% of the time -- very consistent across a pack. Using a CC 50A ESC (due to a much bigger motor in my 450) now, but also tried the Align 35A version and didn't have any issues with it either.

Don't forget it's a significantly bigger blade than the standard 325mm one though.
