Beast falls out of the sky
trex 450 v2 with beastx.1st flight, does not like thin tape and it wants to fall over.Added thick foam and it took off great.4th flight and it fell out of the sky.Not much damage but unable to determine why I lost power.Replaced the main shaft and now flying very careful and low to the ground.Has any one else lost all power?
Im just afraid that it will happen again. davidk |

I would remove main and tail blades and operate heli and look for a repeat failure. Did you still have motor running? Did you only lose cyclic control? Was there any light blinking?

Check you battery connection. Plug it in and wiggle it around. I am not aware of a beastx actually causing an esc to lose power.
Also make sure all connections to the beastx are secure. Imo they plug in quite loose.

i don't think this is a beast x problem, it's more a batt, esc, connector type thing. i have 4 beast x's and never had a power problem with them. the only problem i've had one time, is a lose wire. i've since learnt to hot glue the wires to the beast x

If you are running the internal bec on the stock speed control its marginal for use with fbl because fbl draws more power. Have seen this on a few helis. It bec gets overdrawn it cuts off and then comes back. You can sometimes see it happen on the bench by moving sticks quickly and watch servos and you will see them stop intermittently. Try running a seperate bec. Seems some work fine but some suffer from this problem. (I do heli setups and builds for the LHS)

I will try the x bec and see if that works. It has not lost power since. However I am very careful flying it.Only 3 short flights.Im checking all the battery connections 1 at a time just wiggling the wires and looking for any abnormaltys.Im just a little wery of it since the crash.I have 2 450s,a 500 and a 600.If I can get the 450 fbl working good I will move on to the 500 and 600.However the fb 500 and 600 flys great.I hate to change something thats not broken.

Why do you need to look any further than this for an explanation? Or do you think this happened when it crashed?
EDIT: Mind you, you said receiver and sat didn't you, so in theory it should carry on, but still odd.

If the ESC is connected to the receiver and not the microbeast (as is if running a standard receiver configuration) the Microbeast could not be the source for loosing power.

Sounds like it did what it was suppose to do. If the satellite disconnected, it had no signal and just fell to earth
