Default First Flights

I'm sure everyone else has "better" videos than I do, but I'm very proud of my very first flights with the MCPx. this is my first CP heli, and my first flights with it. Thank you to my good friend Bryant for letting me use his DX6i.

Talking epic brushless crash

Had quite a few days without flying . I tend to get over excited when that happens. Just goofin off on a very cold winter day. Turn up the sound and listen to it blow apart in the end..awesome! [ame]http://youtu.be/uYveINraaug[/ame]

I think I got the best setup that I can get with an 808 keychain cam and my mcpx. I've seen more stable video with an mcpx, but I'm not gonna spend too much time getting my setup that good.
It was fun practicing with this before I run my gopro and Gaui 425 along the pond with riders...

Some Day I might progress beyond the learning stage and be able to do some 3D flying, Just a little practice doing some Touch and Go on the Washing Machine.

You can get rid of the yello effect (waves running through the picture) by putting some foam between cam and canopy. I used earplugs for that as some are using them to lessen vibes on FPV quadcopters.

As the cam was a gift for a friend of mine I unfortunately have no video to show, but there was no yello in the few tests I made.

This method is also good when you´re trying out the GoPro on your Gaui.

Earplugs! That's a good idea Dr. Dremel! I used a piece of "popcorn" shipping filler and it squished flat with the rubberband and became useless.

The earplugs have quite ideal properties as they are less "bouncy" then regular foam, i.e. they damp vibes much better. Closed cell foam is also working but is not as soft. But you have to mount the cam on the loose side (regardless of material), if it squishes too much damping will be minimal. Rubber bands for securing is best because the bands will transmit far less vibes than let´s say a cable binder. I would also recommend to tie the cam with a loose thread to the frame, if you loose it in-flight it´s gone (don´t ask how I know). Again: These recommendations also work with your GoPro/Gaui combination.

Sorry for the slight OT, but getting better onboard video is actually not this difficult so I guessed I would post my findings.

Cheers
Dr

OK back on topic. Managed to sneak in some flights during lunch break yesterday. Finally got the HK 14kkV bird vibe free and it´s a ton of fun (love the sound of it too)! Got the backwards inverted circles CCW down pretty reasonable, now on to CW!

Default my first video in the field

Hey all,

I got my mcpx probably mid week of January. (my only other experience coming from a 120sr that got me into the hobby 12/31/12) Anyway always just kind of practiced hovering in my living room and trying to turn it around in circles in my living room. Aside from that I did get a good few weeks in with Phoenix to practice when batts were charging. I have flown once in the field on superbowl sunday, which resulted in many crashes but learned from them and it allowed me to start learning side to side flying. Now in this video, it's my 2nd time out to the same field and now I was startled myself to see how much I have improved from practicing on phoenix and the little flights I was doing in my living room. I actually had great flights and my friend was cool enough to record me using my iphone. Enjoy.

Default Nothing special, just some sport flying out back

Just a morning sport fly out back at my home flying field 20' out my back door. Filmed with my 808#11 HD hat cam. Gives a good view of my flying field for all my heli's. Wide open, green grass and no obstructions. This is a video I shot earlier in the month. I'm getting there.

Video is in HD and best viewed in YuoTube...
