see your "soon tarot zyx fbl setup" in your signature so ill chime in...
anyway, i never really was good at blade tracking with a fb heli...went fbl, and it takes two seconds with a digital caliper...90 degree servos and set both blades to zero degrees with a pitch gauge...then i take the link rods off and measure with the digital caliper to ensure the same length...works every time for me, and never have to worry about my tracking being off really, unless something messed up! haha WARNING, this might not be the best method to go about tracking your blades, and may be wrong as far as i know, but it works for me and my heli seems to fly great imo! goodluck!

With fbl if you get 0 pitch at mid stick on both blades it will damn near be perfect. I set my pitch curve @ 50% from 0-50, that way I can spool it up a good bit and the pitch doesnt change..makes it alot easier to see the blades. That works of flybarred setups as well.

I had a perfect setup with fiiberglas blades and one blade still tracked about 1/8 inch higher. I believe 1/2 turn per the video worked perfectly. These were cheap 335 3d pro blades, they fly great but at the price you can't expect perfection!

Yea I just got done balancing a new set of 3d pro blades...took a load of tape, but oh well...im far from looking for perfection haha...just something that doesnt hurt the wallet as much as my pride when I crash!

My first set took about an inch of electrical tape to balance weight, and half of a piece of the tracking tape to balance after cog was set. This set required nearly both pieces of the tracking tape only. Much better than the old woodies!

+1 digital pitch gauge.
Works amazing for tracking! So much simpler to use than standard pitch gauge. And way more accurate... One man cyclic pitch adjustment is another huge advantage.

Firedoug, I was thinking of getting one. I'm guessing you just zero it sitting on the tail boom? In addition to a flybar lock I would assume much quicker setup!

I made a datum tool that screws to the top of the head, then I just use my fb pitch gauge. Thats crazy on those 3d pro CF blades..on the 4 sets Ive used they've all weighed within .02 of each other (and that was worse case), even put the head in the prop balancer just to be sure..level as can be. Usually the tracking sticker on one blade does the job.

You got it works great for FB heli too. You can tinker with the Eflite foam blade holder connected to a flybar paddle to use as a flybar lock. But If you buy a digital gauge you will even closer to going FBL.
