Here is what I found at A-Main Hobbies.

Note: This rotor head system must be used with the Align 550E Main Shaft Set (AGNH55006), 600PRO Metal Main Rotor Holder (AGNH60204) and 600 Feathering Shaft (AGNH60H001XXW) or Feathering Shaft (AGNH60006).

yes it works. I beefed up my older ESP and simply replaced the head with a FBL one (non DFC)....
I reprogrammed the gyro (as it now needs a FBL gyro) and off I went..
no issues ever since...

I have a DFC head as well for another ESP... and that one requires a lower main shaft as teh links on the DFC head are smaller...

it can be done

Okay good). One more question, what shaft did you use? Esp shaft?

Three shafts fit the non-3rd bearing 600's

dfc - 163mm
E's, FL's - 177 mm
and the old Fly bar ones - 192mm

According to this -

http://www.amain.com/rc-helicopters/...h003xx/p387004

You need this one (the 177mm one) -

for the non DFC head I used the standard ESP main shaft... (all I did was swap the head and gyro)..

for the DFC one the main shaft is "custom cut" to fit the DFC links... but you can use the smaller main shaft with no issues...
