Easiest way to pull the main shaft of a 4#3B
what's the easiest way to pull the main shaft out of a 4#3B?
Got to be pushing a pin out of the rotor housing at the top or the gear at the bottom, but are there any handy dandy tips or trick to it before I get my meat hooks inside this gnat?

pulling the main shaft out of a 4#3B should be incredibly easy... if you turn it over, it should just slide right out! Well, it should slide out if the main gear is first removed!
But don't worry... removing the main gear is pretty easy if you just twist it off! Well, it should twist off easily if the main gear pin is first removed! But now you need to worry a little as getting the pin out can be a bit tricky the first few times you do it. I usually use a small nail with a few light taps of hammer to push the pin out one side enought to get a good grip on it with a pair of good pliers. Once you can get a good grip on the pin, just twist and rotate it back and forth until it comes out. If you bugger it all up the first time, don't worry, you won't be the first person to ruin the main gear, pin, or shaft trying to remove it. Once you do it a few times, you will get a better feel for how much pressure you can apply before you damage it. |
