Talking A Tip from me

Hi Freaks
Just a bit of info on how to correct the extracted skewed image. I dont know how you guys are processing the image but I do all my editing in Photoshop there is a very quick way of correcting the picture and this is how you do it.

Note this only applies to Photoshop

From the pull down menu select Filter then Other (at the bottom) then Offset and you will confronted with a little function that allows you to offset the pixels in both horizontal and vertical plain. Now ensure you put a tick in the wrap (and preview) around box and simply type in how many pixels you want to offset the image in the horizontal plane only, easy peasy. You can play around with this figure until you get it pixel perfect.

I'm not sure what other paint packages have this function unfortunately MS Paint does not have this facility its just a matter of slicing up the image and pasting it in the correct order.

I Hope this helps, happy painting

Cheers
Glenn

Is there a way to save the different schemes as different variants... or can you only have on scheme for each heli as of now?

P.S. THANK YOU Devindh for taking the time to create these and even making a template for us to use!

Hi, raptor3dpilot, glad you like it.

To answer your question, is yes (for now). just one scheme for one helicopter. Example, one scheme for t600n (white), and one scheme for t600n red.

Cheers.

P.S. Merry Christmas all,.......

Dev I'm not sure if the owners of Phoenix are really bothered about creating new images for their program and to be honest I think it is a good thing if gives the user a chance to fly his own actual helicopter. If you are worried about it I would ask Phoenix themselves.

I have now got a full set of decryted BMP files now it only took meabout 30minutes with hex editor and photoshop to do the lot.

I think perhaps what the best thing to do is create blank template files for each helicopter that everybody can paint themselves but it will just have the outline of the parts so you know their location on the BMP.

I am currently looking into how models are added so you can have more than one model this is not as easy as reflex there must be a file list somewhere I just hope its not scrambled

Cheers
Glenn

Hi Devin the GEO file is the 3D mesh file but I do not know the format although I have been experimenting with it. I have also emailed Phoenix but so far no reply on what software is used only that a painting program will be available but no date for its release.

As for Killjoy on the other site I can see why people become upset if your are copying somebody else's work but if we create own own images how can that be copyright we are only using the information from the original BMP to find the location and orientation of the parts. We are not copying anything how can this be subject to copyright ?

The Align helicopter design is copyright do SIM programmers ask permission to photograph these models ? is a photograph subject to copyright ? I think anybody can take a picture of their helicopter and use it.

I am now looking into how to add a new model so we do not have to overwrite the original, maybe this is in the windows registry but believe me there will be a way.

Keep up the good work BUD

Cheers
Glenn

Thanks, Glenn for your opinion about copyright.

Yes, GEO is 3d mesh file,.. there is structure to heli part there (see from hex editor).

About not to overwrite the original,

I allready research about link between trex450 regular and float, that has been sharing same bitmap too. Still confused,.................

Research too with comparing (w hex ed) between trex600n white and trex600n-red version because they have same size, but refered link to other bitmaps,......... No hope,..........

Ok, will try more,......

Cheers.

Glenn, could you do us all a big favour by posting a zip file of all the unencrypted BMPs? You could zip it up and then upload to one of the file hosting sites for us to down load as it will be quit large...
