Default Testing new setup - E720 smack vid

Trying out the SJ hawk 120amp ESC using vbar gov with the Scorpion HK4525-520kv LE motor.

I was very surprised at how simple to setup it was, and with very few adjustments needed for it to work flawlessly.

Mini V - v5.2
SJ hawk 120
Scorpion 4525-520 LE
Edge 693SE's
Savox servos
Thunder power 4400mah 65c (12S)

As usual Marco great flying, how do you like it compared to jive, well maybe not fair since you have pyro on jive if i remember correctly, i also fly the hawk on my vibe e8 but h/jive on rappy with handwind mx. Is that the new 4525 ultimate in yy or still the old d winding?

I find the gov to be a bit better that the kontronik. Must be due to the pre-comps. The tail is a bit better too.

The motor is the 4525 LE (d winding)

Ok thanks, time you invest in the new ultimate yy, but rather the 4530 or 4535, rappy can handle both, we have to show the world what this thing can do, no wimpy 4525's, they're made for those helis that strip gears.....or throw pulleys!
BTW what thr percentage were you running on the jive?, and was it calibrated mr mels way or default?

Got any JLog2 files from your Jive testing by chance? I'd love to see what this thing pulls with the way you fly (which is just awesome by the way).

I cant fly like Marco but have a jlog on h/jive and my compass 7 hv flying hard 3d with a yy rewinded 4035 which is a little stronger than the 4525, but the way Marco flies i can see similar amp draws. But if you want to see how the jive does this is helpful

PWM percentage only touched 100 once or twice so perfect

Marco didn't run the 4525 with the jive, he installed the 4525 and the SJ Hawk at the same time!
I don't think he ever bothered to log the Jive and Pyro combo as it never got hot or used more packs than it should have.

After a flight like that the packs are quite warm/hot!! But doing sets the Heli is very forgiving and nothing gets hot except the motor!! The fan on the ESC rarely comes on unless giving the Heli a hard time!!

Sorry guys i havent logged it. I usually dont lol. Either it can handle it or it can't

But a flight like that does give the gear a hard time. Still well within working parameters and temps. The fan on the esc only comes on every once in a while. Sometime i land and it is running and sometimes its not? Good to know it works lol.

As dave said. I did not run the 4525 with the jive. I was having probs with my jive/pyro comb cutting out. I have had i for a few years now and dont have time to troubleshoot due to the 3D masters. I needed to go with a new setup and found this to work very well.

I have heard of the hawk pulling peaks close to 200amps on some TDR's durring speed runs and having no probs!

Question for Marco:

You said you prefer 693 mains over 710s, but that was when you were still running the Pyro motor. Do you still prefer 693s with the Scorpion LE motor?

To be honest i havent tried the 713's again since putting the 693 SE's on.

I run the 713's on my G4 nitro but the headspeed is alot lower on the Nitro. Gives it more pop on collective. The E720 has heaps already due to higher headspeed so i dont feel the need to turn larger blades.

Also the SE's have a better sound in my oppinon and stop very well for 693's. I just really like they way the perform. They bite the air beautifully but dont seem to load the head up much at all.

I've been flying se as well and love them, been trying mat black spin while chasing motor problem, now changed to pyro handwind Se blades going back, spins no good for me.
693 its my favourite size. Note I can't fly like these guys but give my rappy a good hard workout nonetheless

I'm flying with a set of Rail 696's , very nice blades, just changed from HKIII 4035-500 to a 4525 Ultimate , will see if there's a big difference .

How did you mount the scorpion 4525? I get trouble with the pinion getting to low, Reversing the motorplates makes troube with the guides for the tail servo und reversing the pinion lowers the pinion to much. Also the scorpion motor screws get damn near to the main gear...

Move the pinion upside down and make a new small flat for the setscrew.

OK , thanks, I was afraid that the motorshaft is a little to short for mounting the motor pinion block in the lower holes... But it worked...

Which pinion do you use for the 4525? The one out of the kit?

Thanks

Henning
