Default Microheli Frame on BL?

Who has put the Microheli CF frame on their BL? I know at least one of you freaks have!! Obstacles? All fits fine? I really want to run a solid 3mm boom and boom supports..the reason for the change.

I have one on mine, just added tail motor mounts for the 3 mm boom too. You will have to slot the main motor mounting plate holes for the stock motor.

Is it a 7mm tail mount that is needed?

I don't understand fully what it means to slot the holes for the main motor mount. Basically it means you will need to use a dremmel or a very fine drill bit to make your own holes that will line up to the stock motor?. Thats the only mod required to use Microheli's mcpx frame?. I think I can handle that if so... Also, to mount 3mm aftermarket booms you have made your own tail motor mount that will fit the Mcpx BL stock tail motor?. Also, are you using hollow 3mm carbon fiber rod?. Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me. I'm excited to beef up my stock Mcpx BL.

Cheers!

( I tried to quote dyl here but failed.)

Yes, the stock motor holes are Approx. 7mm apart, the MH frame is designed for motors with Approx. 8.55mm hole spacing, so you have to slot the holes.

I use 120SR booms cut down. You must have a flat on the end of the boom to properly mate with my mounts.

Pic is of the MH frame motor/boom support mount redesigned to fit the BL inrunner and "regular" MCPx motors.

Thanks Dylan , the redesigned mount just makes it that bit easier (I've been feeling lazy of late)

The Microheli frame was something I decided to do in order to add a 3mm tail boom. Here is the results.

Nice write up. Why bother (and spend $40) on the autorotation set?

I had an extra one, so decided to test it. I like them because they make the heli a bit more smooth in the air. Feels different to me and I like it. Just a personal preference.

I may or may not stick with them though. Depends how long it takes me to bend a shaft or how long the gears last.

Awww you guys are just showing off now. Thanks for the write up Clyde. Well done as always, very nice. Everything I could've asked for and more. Big HF names chiming in on this one huh?. The new stuff brings you guys out i guess. Dyl on here, clyde. Wheres Pfloyd? probly moderating these messages?. Or flying his new Mcpx BL?. When and if I come across some extra money, the MH mcpx frame is going to be a big must for me. Also Dyl's 8mm tail mount, and a 120 sr tail boom to cut down, or buy myself some 3mm CF rod. Glad you guys have put in the footwork for me. Cheers to that!.

Geof

I am also in the game!

I did some tests with the original esc and outrunner motors (HP08S and HP03T), with bad results.

Anyway, for those who want to mount both external escs, these are the two signal spots.

Since I believe the main motor fully satisfactory in terms of power, I'm assembling my MH main frame with the HP03T tail motor driven by the XP3A.

I'm still working on...

Liftbag you are the man! Thanks for the signal spots. Was definitely thinking about going HP03 after the stock motor goes out.

Glad the info was able to help. You may as well get Dylan's motor mount as well. His carbon is better quality, plus you will be able to add tail boom supports with it too if you want.

I agree, the 3mm boom is one of the best mods for this bird. Try out the Xtreme Canopy (Type C). Fits like a glove. Just saying the second flying day with my mcpx bl and I complete shredded the canopy beyond recognition. Hit the ground just right and it won't take much to destroy the stock canopy.
