Replacement Servo
So my 1st crash was on my 3rd flight when I lost orientation (flying to early in the morning when it wasn't light enough). Lost a tail gear, but also one of the servos is now out. I can't seem to find a replacement servo. Has anyone had any luck sourcing one? Are they just not out yet?

HH also has the servo mechanics, if you don't mind soldering. They're around $9.99, I believe. That saves money if you don't need the electronics. But, they are both back ordered. My 130x has been down for weeks now because of a broken cyclic servo. I only need the mechanical parts but at this point I'd buy the entire assembly if it were available, just to be able to fly it again

Are the servos the same as the ones on the MCPX?

Have you called HH support and told them about your dead servo? I'm sure they would send one out to you free of charge.

I haven't because it was the result of a crash. The end of the threaded rod that the wiper travels along, where the nut is attached at the top of the servo, was sheared off.

I just ordered 2 cyclic servos off EBay. There were more available.

Will a tail servo work for a cyclic?
I accidentally ordered two tail servos when I broke the original during a clumbsy rebuild mishap (two of the screw holes on the original frame were stripped where it holds the tail boom and I had finally had enough), and upon reassembly, the starboard servo no longer works. |

How did you break the original? If the mechanics of it are good you could swap them over to the tail servo's pcb.

If you look closely at them you should be able to tell that the PCB is different, the motor is different and the gears are different.
Has anyone tried to force q tail servo to work as a cyclic one,not that I have seen posted. FYI The Tail servos have been in short supply recently while the cyclic ones were not. I guess I am the exception ather than the rule but I know that servos fail. Some sooner .some latter but they fail or strip gears, wear out bushings, pots, wipers, etc. and I do not mean only these micro linear ones either. When I ordered my 130 X I ordered, extra cyclic and tail servos, servo links, main gears, main and tail blades, tail rotor shaft ,tail boom, TT ,extra gear sets and a few othe misc. parts. |

Oops... sorry for the double post. I didn't think the first one went through.
Anyhow, I broke the first one by pulling the tail boom out without first taking the servo off which just pulled the wires off the servo. That wasn't so bad, and I just soldered them back on, but then noticed that the little brass things on the end of the screw mechanism were gone. Now I have bigger problems: I plugged the tail servo up to the board last night and moved the stick to make sure the board was working and now nothing works! The main motor will still turn, but that's it. I didn't have much time to play with it last night, so I'll try to rebind to the dx7s tonight. Hopefully, it's as simple as that, but any advice would be appreciated. I'm sure you can judge my inexperience by the "little brass things" comment. Thanks in advance - Kevin |
