BTW, that looks like the north Burbs there, the houses are too nice for the south side. LOL

Have only had the heli a day and refuse to think that the batter holder on these things couldn't have had more support. Sitting at my desk, I look around and see a paperclip, then the needle nose and the rest is history. When properly bent...there is 0 wiggle room for the bat holder to move. This can even work without the screw (although I would think it needs to be there for the motor).

Take a look at the pix and let me know what you think.

Nice one, I think that's the best stock batt holder mod I've seen! I'll be doing that on mine asap.

Did one of these for the stock motor-mount, a while back. Here's one for an RKH mount.

Before placing the RKH motor-mount on the boom, grind off two of its heat-fins, to provide attachment points for the keeper.




From a 0.007-inch-thick piece of clear plastic, cut a strip about 8mm wide and maybe 50mm long, and punch a hole in the center of it with a 1/16th-inch (1.5mm) hand punch, or a Dremel.

Make two right-angle bends in the strip, 9mm apart, with the punched hole centered between the bends.





Cut the “legs” of the plastic to 9mm.





Snip off the corners of the legs.





Secure the keeper to the mount, using clear silicone adhesive (hot-glue didn't seem to want to adhere to the aluminum mount very well).












I still can't stop crashing during those infernal figure-eights... but I'm s-l-o-w-l-y getting better.

Im going to have to agree with 44Sky there. As a matter of fact when in this world was the last time you really saw/heard/read something TRUELY unique or original? I find the dance we all do usually tiresome, I mean everything around us tends to be some kind of re-hash or another of something truely original isn't it? But, it's fun if it's new to you I guess, So lets just have fun with it while we have the chance, no?

Nice work SkyHi! Yes it has been posted but it's always good to show the different approaches toward the same goal. It gives ideas and spurs the imagination. I do believe that your bearing keeper is a first with the RKH assembly though. Novel approach!

Ok guys here is my wiring mod. I know it's been done before but oh well.

I went to the local electronics store and got some 20awg wire in black. Then I used deans connectors for my batteries. It was a pain to put the wires in the board but with patience and 2 hours later (taking my time) it got done

Ok so here is my battery tray that I made.

The plastic came from a Plano box spare divider. I just cut it down to size and drilled the 4 holes and mounted it under the 250 skids. I also deleted the stock battery tray and use just velcro on all my batteries now.







And the end result! Yes you see it's big brother in the back ground waiting to go fly



No the battery and tray do not push on the canopy to the left. The canopy Mounting holes aren't in the right spot and they need to be moved forward to straighten it out. What do you expect for a stock body? Perfection? Yeah right lol

Yeah it should have came like this stock. It made a huge difference in power to everything. When I get my Xtreme ball bearing motor I am sure it will help it out way better than the crappy stock wiring

When I got mine last year, I had a soft crash and it would fly...the red wire that is attached to the motor come off..what crappy wires.

Mine did the same thing. I crashed and picked it up and tryed to fly again and nothing. So I came back inside and tryed to solder the wire but it was so tiny I said screw it time to upgrade!

WOW. That canopy is BEAUTIFUL.

I got sick of replacing the carbon fiber canopy rods as they are easy to snap. A good way to fix this is to get some 2mm piano wire, cut it to length and deburr the ends.

I picked up 3, 3 foot rods from my local hobby shop for about $2.50 which is comparable to one set of the carbon fiber rods.

You will need a Dremal to cut and deburr the rods, or metal shears and a file.
