Gorilla Gear for Spectra-G

The other night I was checking out my landing struts and it looks like both struts are cracked where the grub screws tighten to keep the tubes in place. Is there a set of Gorilla Gear availabe for the MA Spectra-G? If not what is an alternative? Thanks!

No Gorilla gear available, however you can retrofit any 90 size landing gear without too much effort.

Don't take this the wrong way but if youre landing your Spectra so hard that the gear is breaking then you really need to look at your landing tecnique.

Ive had a few very hard landings and the stockk gear is pretty strong IMO.

Darkplague....This is a second hand Spectra-G. The other day I was checking the heli out and it looked like it was squatting in the rear. I thought I installed the landing struts backwards after doing the engine exchange. After looking over the struts I noticed that the struts were cracked where the grub screws tighten to keep the skids in place.

oic..... well just replace them with the original gear, it is pretty strong, and dont tighten those grubbies as much!

Or like I said before you can use any gear from a large 90 like a raptor 90, bergen or whatever you can get, its fairly easy to redrill new holes in just about any gear.

Always store your Spectra with the blades spread for flight rather than folded back on the boom with the blade holder.

If you do this then the landing gear won't squat down over time in the rear as its more evenly balanced in weight. If you must fold the blades over on the boom for storage, then find a way to keep the weight off the landing gear.

rbort.....Thanks for the tip! I think I might just take the blades off since I really haven't had the time to fly and the heli is just sitting.

I always figured that that the blade holder prevented the blades from warping (if that's even possible), I guess that isn't the case?

I use the Tuff Strut 1's on mine. They are larger, stronger and also it sets the machine up a little higher. Also Quick UK has sets in colors and are the same.

What I am doing now is using a block of wood that is just the right height to take most of the weight of the machine. Just stick the wood underneath the rear end, much easier than taking the blades off.

That works too, I need to find a place to store my helis in my new workshop. On shelves seems to be the best way, but hard to spread the blades on the shelves so I may have to support the gear with the blades in the holder so its more compact.
