Default Play in the flybar cage?

I don't remember if I've always had this or it just developed. Flying yesterday, I noticed that my whole flybar assembly cage has some wiggle room from side to side. All of the screws are tight. Nothing is bent. It just seems there is a slight gap between the bearings and the flybar arms now. Is that normal?

sounds like you've developed a little slop over time. None of my 600 nitro's have any play in the cage. You can get shims from your LHS, typically from the car department.

take the flybar apart and look at both ends that slide onto flybar. put them on glass you will see one is bent more then the other OR there both bent. do not use shims. simple bend them back to where there supposed to be and it will clean up the loose tolerence's

if you ever get left to right play, its the two seesaw bearings that are worn

Not a bad idea on the bearings. But bearings may not be the only issue. On my bird that I had to shim there is clearly play between the seesaw and flybar cage but that's my 90 raptor. Checked the bearings and there is no noticeable ware, no grit or endplay that I can detect. That being said it took only one shim per side to fix. Total thickness was .3mm or about .012 inch. So, very little but enough to make me want to clean it up. Easily can be the bearings, just can't feel it. let us know how the bearing swap goes.

Interesting... We will get together soon, and get both birds fixed up and nice. Let me know what parts you may need Sean, Ill get them with my order, so no shipping... I just took my head apart, and glad i did. I may need bearings(they feel great, but better safe than sorry) but my seesaw arm had a loose screw, and so did one of the mixing arms. Also flybar and cage are both bent, so more money. Lucky me... lol
