Default Who mounts their fbl controller like this?

Just curious if I'm asking for trouble mounting my fbl controller like this? Looking threw all the photos I can't see anyone mounting it like this lol.

Should I move it and flip my accessory tray the proper way again?

One of my 600N's came like that, and I still have that accessory shelf upside down. I've moved the 3GX onto the regular shelf since, but it worked fine in both locations.

Its been a while since I moved it, but I think the main reason I did was just to tidy the wiring and give myself a little more slack.

The FBL gyro does not care where it is mounted on the heli - as long as it is perpendicular and square to the main mast.

I have not checked the "square-ness" of flipping the receiver mount.
As long as the surface where the gyro is mounted is 90-degrees to the main mast and horizontal, then you are fine.

I would use a digital pitch gauge and measure the front to back angle on the Lynx gyro tray and compare it to the top surface of the inverted receiver mount. If they match, you are good to go.

There is no advantage to placing the gyro close to the main mast or the CG of the heli.

That is a pretty neat installation too. I may take a look at moving my SK-540 to that spot.
Where is the flight pack battery located?

I would say that the main disadvantage is that you paid $15 for the Lynx aluminum gyro mounting plate, and now it is just decoration (lol).

That looks slanted to me. If it is then it's no good. If it's 90 to the main shaft then it's fine

I never checked but by eye it looked flat. Here's a better picture, I've since moved my sk540 onto the gyro tray anyways lol.

Here's how she sits now, just have to do the Skookum set up and mount the head now. I went with the dfc head and A arm over the anti rotation bracket. I just need to research which main shafts I'll need to buy for spares. The only I have looks to be cut and drilled.

YES!!!

I can't believe I didn't think of this... I haven't ordered a NEO yet for my 600n because I wasn't sure where to put it.

Use this main shaft for your DFC conversion:
http://www.amain.com/rc-helicopters/...FUyVfgodJeUPnA

The SK-540 does not have accelerometers in it. So, you can mount it anywhere on the frame as long as you maintain the "squareness" with the main shaft.

I do not know anything about a NEO FBL

If you had the SK-720BE or VBar with accelerometers, they benefit from being closer to the CG (main shaft).
The gyros are fine - that does not change.
But the accelerometers measure angular velocity and that angular velocity is higher the farther away from the CG you get.
