Default Simple charger/balance mod

I took a jst connector, and a balance plug off an old battery, opened the eflite charger, and soldered them both to the pins of the umx connector on the charger. Too impatient to wait for the adapter to come for my thunder power charger... Can't wait an hour between flights either. I can now charge my only battery in under 20 minutes!

Honestly though, very clever. I wish I had soldering skills like that.

It's really not that difficult... Just don't buck power and plug in the eflite to its ac adapter. Everything has been working for for several charges, eflite, and thunder power.

Cut a bigger notch in bottom of case so the wires come out nicely...

Solder your discharge and balance lead to the bottom of circuit board. Only need two wires for discharge, I chose a jst connecter because that's what I had laying around. Black to black, red to red. Also solder your balance lead (from an old battery) to all the pins, black to black, yellow to white, and blue to red, in my case, basically, just line up the colors. The red from my balance lead is not being used, as I stated before, the balance lead came from a 3s pack.

Button back up... Enjoy 20 min charge times!

Let me know if you need help.

For my balance lead, blue is soldered with the red from the jst discharge lead. Yellow is by itself, black is with black.

Just curious but depending on which one would work for your chargers board adapters, why didn't you guys just get one of these?

My plan is to convert the heli over to micro deans when I get my nano's in.... But completely forgot to order the nanos when I ordered the heli... Hand to face
Just looking for a temp solution to charge stock bat and fly as many times as possible on this 4th.
However I might go ahead and get one of those cables and convert it to micro deans to charge 6

Same, want to fly, not wait. Only one pack. Only a temp solution.

rknaub, what charge rate are you using to get 20 min?

I did .6A and got it charged in 28 minutes

Safe to do .9A I assume on this bat

I do .9 and get it to about 22 min after a 4.5 min flight. I live this heli, Im gonna buy another when I get paid.

Battery clearly states safe for 3c charge rate.
