Are the light towers just going to be on the main flight line? If so, I assume those of us who want to do "true" night flying should be able to use one of the secondary flight lines.

At the main runway, towers will be up until 10pm, spotlights until 11pm, self-illuminated until midnight.

That's right, I had forgotten. Still, the option to fly a little extra time, or not so late, still exists on the secondary flight lines.

I just renewed my AMA (only for this funfly!) and pre registered . But I notice my AMA renewal they sent me says it expires 12/31/12... Does it not last a year from when purchased? Or at least get pro-rated

I think the way it typically works is that the initial dues are full price and then you get a prorated discount on the following year's dues. That's the way it was when I joined anyway.

Yep. You'll get a break when you renew...

I'm starting to get all fired up about this thing.. I dunno if it's me or the event (lol) but I'm starting to get vendors/manufacturers calling ME to offer up goodies for the raffle.. eheheh

Assuming you let it expire at the end of last year, I suspect you're essentially starting over. If you renew during the renewal period at the end of this year, you'll likely get the prorated price for next year. That's the only time the proration is available as far as I know.

Ahh I did let it expire last year before renewing. Kind of a bummer but oh we'll. Thanks

If you waited till October 1 to renew your AMA it would have covered you all next year. I only renew my membership for this event once every two years. My AMA will expire at the end of this year. This will be my second hf fun fly on one membership. I will purchase my AMA on the first of October next year and will be able to do two more fun flys. Can't wait.

OK heads-up for vendors/sponsors.. We're ready to start accepting donations for the raffle. Like last year, we're asking for $200 (or more if you're feeling generous) in current product to put into the raffle pool. In exchange, you'll get your company's name on the event shirt, banner space and a space in the vendor's tent. Please contact me or WillJames if you're interested.

Volunteers. We're going to need 'em. Probably a dozen or more over the 4 days. Flightline Marshals, go-fers, help with registration etc.. PM me with your contact info and days you might be attending. As an extra incentive, we're trying to get some goodies for a volunteers only raffle together so help us out and maybe go home with some goodies to boot!

Everybody is welcome. You'll find a Helifreak event is all about the fun and nobody cares what your skill level is. Come on out and throw down your hard-core tail in hover and I guarantee that nobody will laugh at you.

Last thing you want to do is show up to a funfly and tell people you have helicopters but didn't bring them.

THAT is a sure way to get alot of crap.

Bring it. If it's flying great then you fly it. If you're having trouble with something there will be plenty of people willing to spend some time with you helping you get it fixed.

The people are super cool.....
