Default servo requirements of an e5 and n5c

Alright, here is a question for the books and the guys with experience.

I'm gonna start with I cannot really afford this hobby but manage to. I cannot swing 300 or more dollars for a set of cyclic servos as is. So if I was to squire an e5 or N5c what am I looking at for the core requirements.

Of course they need to be digital, fast and able to carry the load of the disk. But what are those actual requirements?

Right now I have a set of Savox SC-1258TG. They are specified at 6 volts to travel 0.08 @ 166in oz of torque.

Would these work on one or either? And if not what are the requirements I need to meet before I can successfully put either of these birds in the air?

There are no real requirements for the servos. It's mainly personal preference and what your needs are as a pilot. What you have will work for 90% of the pilots out there. If you have a good tail servo you'll be good to go.

I personally run a HV system because it's involves less wiring and I don't have to add a regulator to step down voltages. I did notice a increase in performance when I switched servo brands and went HV but if you don't need that don't worry about it.

Hey boggie. Thank you for the reply. I certainly appreciate it.

And yes. A pro taught me long ago that you can deal with halfway decent cyclic servos. Spend your money on the tail. They had a bk hv7006 on sale so I snatched that up recently.

The 1258TG Savox are a great servo for the E5 . I ran them for several years in my E5S as a 620mm and then 690 super stretch, I know several other E5s with them in it as well as many other helis. I ran a western robotics super bec at 6 volts. They are a tough long lasting servo for a good price.

Hey Dennis. Thank you very much for the reply. I'm gonna put them to the test on my current bird. Then when I get to my E5 it will be more fun and I can rest assured they are capable of doing the job.

No requirements for the heli, you should mostly look at what your FBL unit asked for.

I ran Savox 1258TGs for a very long time in the form of align 610s. They went through me learning how to helicopter, all the way up to piro loops and smack. From a 600EFL, E5, X50, and then in an N7. Yeah, they'll be just fine in an E5

Something in the 160 oz+ region is good enough for most folks until you get really violent at high speed, and even then. More important is speed, especially on the tail.

The align 610s have been treating me well on cyclic with a KST on the tail for my 600 helis, a good tail servo goes a long ways. Ill take the 1-2% last bit of cyclic performance ill miss over a sloppy inconsistent tail.

I've been running kst 725 cyclic servos for a while now and I'm impressed with them. They're cheap, fast, strong, high voltage, I don't know of any better deal. Log in to the site for an even cheaper price.

I have kst 725's in my e5s and 2 other helis and couldn't be happier.
there hardly ever in the for sale section, nobody wants to get rid of them. and if they are, there gone quickly.
