Default A/C adapter for charger

Bought a B450 today, and there were only alligator clips for the charger. WTF?

Same as me, am I missing something, it says ready to fly but you can't without a plug for the charger.

Have you had a response?

Thanks

I figured that. I'll but an AC plug for it today. Maybe take the heli for a maiden flight tomorrow.

Why do you not get told you need a mains lead? I know I am new at this but a heads up would have been nice from the manufacturer or the shop.

I got an old hp computer power supply and it supplies a steady 12volts and close to a max of 30amps I think.
There is a post either in here under chargers or at rcgroups one that tells what you have to do to properly set it up to work for our batteries. It cost me right at 40 dollars for the supply and all my necessary hardware

Those are great but overkill for the RTF charger. As it only charges at 1.8 amps, any cheap 12volt 5 amp power supply is more than enough.

I called up the shop i got it from and they suggested jaycar, they needed to know what the amperage was, i honestly did not know till i looked up the manual on the web, it's 1.5.(Thats what it says on the manual)

So they gave me a 2.5 amp 12v and they said it will still only supply what it needs and wont blow it up, so i was happy, all for 30-40 bucks, not too bad in my opinion.

Got the AC adapter today. Plugged it in to the charger, plugged the battery in, and I get an error (all lights flashing from green to red). Do I have a bad battery, or a bad charger?

Try putting the clips on your car battery, if it works then it's your power supply, if still flashing you either have your battery plugged in backwards or the charger is defective.

Turns out it was the AC adapter I got at the LHS. Took it back and they replaced it.
