Spare Parts to Keep on Hand

• Tail boom assemblies: Unless you upgrade to a solid boom, expect the stock hollow one to splinter in a crash.
• Spindles: These will bend rather easily in a crash.
• Swash plates: The rear ball is easily broken off in a crash.
• Main frames: Canopy posts are a weak point.
• Rotor head linkages: Even if you do the hot glue mod, they can still snap in a crash. Keep an 8 pack on hand.

Worthwhile Aftermarket Upgrades

• Xtreme/ Rakon Heli/ MicroHeli CNC Aluminum swash plate: Metal swash plates remove a majority of the slop from the rotor head. All of these are worthwhile, but MicroHeli boasts replaceable balls.
• MicroHeli Rotor Hub: While not a performance upgrade per se, it captures the rotor head links so you don’t lose them in a crash.
• Rakon Heli CF Frame: The frame boasts an adjustable motor mount, perfect for brushless upgrades.
• Asteroid-Designs Product Line: All products are top notch according to online reviews.
• K&B Dream Design Blades: They come in a wide variety of bright colors improving visibility. They make the bird flip quickly and handle the wind well. Durability seems to differ from pair to pair.
• Paper Canopies: Just “Bling” but cost effective

I just watched you vid on centering neutral pitch; I was curious if you cover leveling the swash plate in one of the first 3 segments?

This is the first heli I have set up and it is very wild with the pitch and throttle curves right now and I need to start learning... part of the problem is that I do not understand programing a heli and have never done it before; the other part of my problem is I am learning all the heli features of the 11x and I still know nothing

Short version of a long frustrating story:

The DX4e transmitter that comes with the RTF mCP is a piece of junk. If you're having problems with your mCP that make you think you have a 3-1 board problem, and you are using a DX4e, you should seriously consider isolating the transmitter as the potential problem first.
