Default Wow hobbies brushless kit?

Anyone have any experience with this? http://www.wowhobbies.com/mcpxbrushl...rsionkitp.aspx

I am currently running the stock transmitter. Anyone think i will have any problems with this kit? I dont do much 3d at all just want a more reliable main motor set up with a little more power. And would also like to do the twin tail set up. Any help would be great!

It will work, but that tail is overkill for that motor and you will not have linear throttle. You'd be better off buying components separately and soldering them to the board.

Yep!
C05 motor $24
9t 1.0mm pinion $2
XP7A ESC $15
"Steve" convertor $15
Frame brace $5.50

Total $61.50

And it would be even cheaper if you had a computerized TX and went with a flashed ESC.

@SYMAWD, can you explain your comment about not having linear throttle? Just trying to understand. Thanks.

You won't get a smooth, linear transition of power from 0% to 100% throttle over the range of the throttle movement on the TX. It will either be a notchy/ jumpy transition like shifting gears in a car or go from 0% to 50% to 100% in a small movement of the throttle.

So what specifically about that setup causes the non linearity? If I ever go BL, I'd like to know what to avoid and why.

I have Wow plug-and-play kit and it works brilliantly.

Yes, there is a price difference, but then the kit is plug-and-play, i.e. no soldering is required. Additionally, I would not go for the motor and pinion separately - I know even professional installers do bent shafts on these small motors!

I'd get a c05m and 10a pnp esc. No need for the converter its both lighter and cheaper. And if you buy from astroid the pinion is installed for you

Also I'd suggest 8t pinion with that motor the 9t will bog alot
