Question Logo 600se 6s setup

I have seen the Timo W video of him flying his 600se with a 6s setup and a few other videos/threads with people talking about it. So for a low headspeed setup intended to only ever be flown 6s, would you still go with the 12s equipment (motor/esc) and just only plug in one 6s pack?

Is there a way that the 600se could be better optimized with a strict 6s setup for very low head speeds and 695's?

Please keep in mind I realize this isn't ideal... Mikado makes various size helis/combos for a reason. I am simply curious.

A 10s setup on 6s along with an active freewheeling ESC turns out to work fairly efficiently for a nice range of low head speed flight. Of course it also means you can readily go 7, 8, 10 or even 12s while adjusting your throttle curves to get whatever speed you're after. With a 6s KV, you'll be running very low throttle curves to get into the low head speed range and normal throttle curves may give you headspeeds that are too demanding on a 6s setup.

Okay thanks for that. I figured just setting it up for a good 12s setup and only plugging in one 6s would be the way to go.

A 12s setup on 6s can work also though a 10s setup will generally give you a more useful range of head speeds on 6s.

i ran my 600sx on 6s, just use one pack and increased IU 2 from 70 - 100 % flat curve. running 606 blades. flew super light, slow, and long.

I fly my 600se often on 6's and I do nothing other than shift that batt as fwd as poss to get the balance better and run the ESC at 100%.

I'm using 160Kosmik and Pyro 450 and all is good. Approx 1000HS.

Just beware of. Vortex Ring State and. Retreating Blade Stall. At this head speed the heli flies like the real Full Size Heli!!!
Oh and yes the tail will blow out if you beat on it hard enough.

But it's super smooth and quiet. Good fun.

Interesting reading as I'm also toying with the lower volts (6s) idea on a SE/690 as my logo 600 is already set up on 6s. Just not sure if the 100 LV would be enough

You can run either a dedicated 6S set up or just run half the cells on a 12S set up. Either way this heli has no issues flying at 1000rpm and in some cases even lower, its very versatile.

Your ESC will be fine unless you try to run a high headspeed, you are pulling barely an amps hence why you can fly so long on low headspeed. My Jive 80HV comes down cool.

Thanks for the info, I would like to try it.

I have a 12s Logo 600 SE. Kontronik Power Jive 120 HV and a Scorpion 4035-450.

Default 6s flying battery size?

Reviving an old thread. New to Mikado. Wanting to get a 600 se and like the idea of having the option to fly 6s low rpm on this heli. If I get the 10s combo would I then get a 6s 5000mah battery or would that be too heavy at around 1000-1100 rpms using the 4035-500 motor. Because if I went with the 12s combo, 4035-450 I would use just half of my 12s system which would be around a 6s 4000mah battery. This will make me decide on the 10s or 12s combo purchase. Thanks guys.

I think the theory is that the latest 550-690 3D helis running on 10-12s batteries have main blades rotating at above 1800rpm, way above the energy efficient rpm range. So without changing anything on a well setup 3D bird, simply plugging in a 6S battery will reduce rpm more or less by half to 900-1200rpm, giving it much better lift/drag ratio, as long as you do not go above 15degree attack angle.

I have run an Align 600EFL Pro on a single 6s battery. I kept the second battery in the tray and just connected one single battery to the ESC. My experience with the Logo line is with my 500 running a Kontroniks Jazz 55-10-32 with a Tango 45-10 motor. The lowest I can set my throttle is 11 points up to keep the motor running and my tach will not read the rpm at all. It is well below 1000 rpm and it is very happy at that speed. The battery, motor, and ESC come down nearly cold after a full flight. It's quiet as a mouse in the air.

Don

PS: Casual flying, no 3D, but lots of missed autorotation landing approaches.

I ran my 12s se on 6s , just changed the plug from a y to a single plug , mine didn't like going below 1250 , (head bobble) other than that I liked it better on 6s than 12s , then changed it to a sx and it flew best that way (12s)

Thanks for the replies. Still would like to know if a 6s 5000mah would be too heavy flying the 600 SE on 6s since it would be around 1000 rpm. Thanks.

I ran 600sx on 6s setup with both 3800mah and 5000mah battery. Heap speed is a little lower than 1000. It is a normal 12s setup but with only one 6S battery connected.

It flies and sounds like a real helicopter I got about 9 minutes big sky + mild 3D flying using 3800mah battery. For my skill level (forward/backward/inverted flying, flip, half piro flip), the extra weight of 5000mah battery doesn't make that much of a difference.

Search on youtube "logo 600 1000rpm". In each video discription, you might find that the owner posted the spec, including the battery size. See whether you like the performance vs spec.

I see many birds on 1000rpm with 6s5000+mah batteries.
