I get 7 mins.. even 8 if I want to get the pack all the one down to 20%.

~ 2200rpm I can't remember, 6s5000 Pulse 45C packs... Rail 516mm blades... 16T pinion with Jive 80LV gov. But I do enjoy the lower headspeed.. mostly mild 3D and precision type flying.. no smack!

I flew my friends G500 for 4 + mins- 3d flight

Talon 90 esc
Quantum 1200 motor
2600 headpsed
18 tooth pinion
4500 mah Lipos (zippy compact - 700 grams )
SAB 500mm blades

Lower Governed Headspeed ,Pinion used and Light batteries is the key to longer flight times

I can get 3:30 at 2900rpm or get almost 9 minutes at my lowest head speed around 1900. The real secret is an esc that can handle low TC.

My setup:

Xnova 4020-1200
20t pinion
Zeal blades (can go longer with cyclone)
Glacier 4400 and pulse 4500 packs.

I have been getting 4:50 running mixed head speeds of about 2600 and 2700. Pack levels off at 22.4-22.6 V. Running:

Stock Blades
Talon 90
Quantum 4120 1200
18T pulley
Pulse 4100 45C

I don't bash it around though. I'd like to try some lower head speeds, but I think I'll need to try a smaller pulley for that.

Pitch-itch, are you using a YGE?

What head speed and pinion? Also getting 4:30 on a 4000 pack isn't that bad if you fly hard. If you're just sport flying then you can probably eek out a little more time by tweaking the setup.

List your head speeds, and pinion.

I'm wondering if you drop your pinion to 16t, if that would give you more run time.

I'm at 4min.40secs flying down to 50%. This is very light flying ,just getting the hang of the G500. All stock, 4400 GenAce packs,YGE ESC. When you guys talk about 5,6,7 minutes of flight what is left on the packs and isn't anything bellow 50% hard on them?

Anything below 25-30% will harm the pack. I would add another minute to your flight time for sure. Maybe 5:30 and see how much you put back.

Just maidened the girl this afternoon.

At HS of 2200 and just hovering, I only put back 1950mAh of a 4400mAh pack after 5 minutes of flight time. I'm using a 16t pinion with the Quantum 4120-1200 motor. This was also a brand new pack, so I will likely get more time out of it once it's broken in.

I'm still going to need to tweak some settings for the Heli so will likely up my time 1 minute and see what happens.

Thanks Ron, I'm pretty happy with 5-5 1/2 min. fly time.

Update:

Gens Ace and Glacier 6S 4400mAh 35C packs. 6 Minutes of hovering and very slow, light FF at 2200 HS and only put back 2513mAh. According to my calculations, that will give me 7 minutes safely. These are new packs, too. Still breaking them in.
