I've never really understood the term stick jab for checking the cyclic gain, possibly my rates are too slow to do this? I check it by doing tic tocs which is correct as well. But I'd feel alot better if I knew how this was preformed lol. I think someone should make a video of stick jabbing, with and without oscillation so everyone can see what they are suppose to achieve.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm confusing a tail comp problem on hard collective changing tick tocs or cyclic gain cause in hurricanes inverted nose first are locked in and brilliant, yet I get shimmies in really fast hard tic tocs.

you give quick small input and back to center. a sharp one and release. if the damping is too high the head will oscillate.

The idea is to create a fast acceleration of the rate and then have it stop. we check the stop.

Hi Omerco,

Does your optimised file make the elevator cyclic function more or less sharp / locked in after an input?

Reason I ask is because I liked the feel of V4, but found the elevator function did not feel locked in after an input through manouver's. This was with a low - moderate rotor speed of 1700 / medium cyclic rate set-up on a 600 class model.

Thanks,

Russ.

Yes it should make the STOP behaviour better. Please note that with such low hs you will need higher cyclic gain. Follow the gain tuning instructions.

Many thanks Omerco!

Tried the small model file in a 450 class model and best flying set-up I have achieved with the SK 540. Elevator stops are much crisper and your settings seems to allow for lower hiller decay values than could be achieved before. This made the model groove and flow very nicely. Stick handling is much nicer now.

Just tried your x3 file on my heli and it fly's great, nice and crisp
Now what file would you use for a nx4 on 480mm blades ??

Default 3D medium heli

You are not the first one to ask this Q so - This one

Basically the differences between helies are in the cyclic accel and hiller decay - they tend to go up with helie's size. Now play around those numbers and find your best spot.

I will soon update the first thread and post this over there as well.

Hey guys I'm running the big Heli setup on a 3 bladed head goblin 700. Noticed that the cyclic gain has to be around 30 . Do you think the extra blade on the head causes the gain to be lowered. Using the new torq servos at high voltage. Got 127/63 ont the travel and awash mix. This gets me to 9.7 of cyclic.

1. Use the x7 file it will give you higher total gain.
2. Longer servo arm should help

And yes for the 3 bladed

5) Look under the file name location and there should be another drop down listed under "File Type" make sure this is changed to "All files" before saving.

If this doesn't work, then its the way your PC has your file extensions configured, and we can address and change this setting easily if problems is still occurring.
I've done everything to get the file changed to a .sk7 file and it still will not load to my gyro. Any ideas? I'm using the new 4.07 firmware. Is that a problem? Please help

Have you verified your PC file extension settings here yet?

https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=27

You wont be able to modify the file extension properly if the "hide file extensions" box is checked under your folder options configuration on your PC.

Open up the start menu on your PC and type "folder options" in the search area and it should come up. Once unchecked you should be able to simply right click on the downloaded file an then rename the file from .TXT to .SK7 and be good

Going to try out the 3D big heli file on my Goblin 770. Once I finish the build and do some testing, I'll report back.
I never did try any of the modified files on my Goblin 500... Other than the elevator bounce, it flew great. Now, its for sale.

the optimized files usually eliminate the tail bounce on the goblins, or greatly improves it.

Viking and myself did a tuning session on his 770 so you can take his file.

John, see post 25 through 27 in this thread. I had the same problem as you:
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...=690659&page=2

I could help you in person if you need it. I'm in South Seattle, and work at the UW.

Anyone flying a 3 bladed 700 with Omers optimized file?

Just about finishing up my KSE Goblin 700 build and I'm going to start off with his file

Just wondering what others thoughts are with a 3 bladed set up
