Default Re-using Tail Push Rod End

Has anyone re-used the tail push rod ends?

since breaking my push rod in a crash I have a spare carbon rod that came with the stretched push rod kit (305-311) and was wondering would it be possible to drill out the old carbon rod and reuse instead of buying the new ends?

if anyone has done this I would love to hear you method of doing this?

Yep, that's what I do as long as the threaded part isn't bent. I cut the carbon tube flush with the end of the metal and then just use a drill bit to drill out the carbon and adhesive. Just drill slowly and you'll know when you're at the bottom of the hole since the part is stainless steel.

Heat gun isn't a real power tool, though.

Mine was with JB weld... and it did come off with the heat gun.
However, as pointed out already, its not a power tool!
