Got a problem with the new upgrade gear, there are no cut outs in the gear and it fouls the frame at the back. I guess I will need to dremel the gear a bit. Don't think I can shim the gear down anymore or crown gear mesh will be too loose.

You can shim between the croun and the gear - need to take apart and have the specific shim for the slot there.
But im not sure you will have enough to solve it? Hmmm

Pretty sure there is a thick shim that goes inbetween the main gear and crown gear. When you took it apart, did you forget to put it back ?

Hmm, I'm not sure then. That's very strange it doesn't fit.

Do you guys know the part # is for that shim that goes in between the crown and main gear?

I just check mine and it has the shim but not the thick one.

I cannot seem to find it. This is the only thing I could find.

I've dremelled a very small amount off the gear so it clears now, going to try it like that and see if it's ok. The shim supplied on this new unit was not very thick, but not sure much more could be added.

I have found this at Gaui's website, Although it's for the NX7.

http://www.gaui.com.tw/product/nx7-s...grade-for-nx7/

From the picture it has the thicker shims.

I did not dremel mine, I just let the bolt do the work.

I got this a while back so I could ditch my main shaft collar. I believe it came with one of the 'thick' shims.

I got mine with 2 thin shims.

And the thick washers is Ø15.1x Ø18×2 Washer x1 and it is not included in my OWB.

This is the X7 one I got as part of the upgrade with the gear which shows just a thin shim 0.1mm.

I have 2 Gaui X2 with upgraded OWB. On both the shim between the main and crown gear is very thin and there is no slop so I dont think its possible to add more shims.
Could it be that the lower bearing block is turned upside down or switched with one of the other bearing blocks on the main shaft?
This is indeed very strange....

So is the newest version the one with the threaded insert? This version doesn't need the set screw mod?

The newest has a threaded hub and without the pins. mine is the same as yours with the 3 pins and they released another after it.

I wonder how Gaui is going to figure out how to soak us for more money. This is the third "upgrade" for this.................
