Me too, it works great.

You don't need active freewheeling. It might gain you a small amount of flight time and keep the ESC a little bit cooler, but you really don't need it.

I'm planning on using a hobbywing 120 plat pro I have, but it looks oddly large on the side of the heli..

I was eying a used 80a jive like someone mentioned above.
