Oh well, it's supposed to be nicer tomorrow.
Yeh, it’s pretty gross... I gotta tip-toe to my 'spot', and I always bring a rag with me to clean the lovely goose-poop from my skids, tail rotors and tail fin... fun, but I guess there had to be some sort of catch to flying there, because other then the poop the field is PERFECT

41 too cold! Man, you are spoiled! 0F is my cutoff as of now, though I have flown in colder.... and with wind, 30mph (when I fly the F50), but usually if it’s over 20mph I just practice FAI hovering. Talk about challenge!

There is one plus to the cold though.... the blades bite better!

I have a h u g e corn field across the street from my work. It's the perfect place to fly until mid July, then the corn gets to tall and I have to go to a "sanctioned" field.

alot more fun too, seems like the guys I work with want to use it for target practice though. got to watch out for the shotguns.
I do the same as well, a couple of flights is only 10 or 12 minutes at the end of lunch. Plus there's a quiet farmers field round the back of work. Shame about the phone cables though, that's why I only fly the little one, just in case!

If your flying at 0F then there's nothing wrong with Oregon's weather besides the humidity sometimes. That kinda clears up my previous question.

There's was too many people at the park to fly today. Should've figure such a beautiful day was too good to be true.

LiPo's dont like the cold, so they dont perform as well.. plastic gets brittle, ball-links tighten up and metal-to-metal joints need checking as the cold shrinks some materials more then others (so if you have a belt, check it!).

I'm sure there are a few that I missed...

I wish! My company locks down what can be installed. Local IT can't even do it for me because corporate IT keeps an eye on it.

I didn't get to fly today ... But i did however finally meet some local guys here at the park whom were very helpful. I found out where everyone else flies at and watched them fly their 600's HOLLY S**T. It's so much cooler IRL I was too shy to fly my little mcpx around this time I wanna get more time in the air before make an ass of myself. All in all I had a really awesome lunch can't wait to see and do more.

They were all newbs at one point, too. Typically, fellow rc pilots aren't going to be pricks and make fun of your 'newb' skills, but encourage you, instead.

My company built a large soccer field out back and donated the space the City of Naperville. Its empty 99% of the time because we are in an industrial park so I fly there durring lunch religiously (weather permitting). Unfortunately, I just got back to town to find about 6" of snow. No flying for a few more days...

Lunch session was a bad idea today... Was really windy and figured what the heck let's see what happens. I flew around for a min then decided to do some inverted and here comes a 20+ gust and my little mcpx couldn't handle it now I get to go buy main shaft, gear, tail boom and a landing skid...
