More guessing than truth .Maybe a little wishing also ..

There is no comparison being made, simply a comment on what can be seen fairly obviously when looking around the airfield. I know a few people who have nitros. One plans on selling his, another almost never brings it to the airfield. The 3rd has very obsolete equipment and rarely flies anymore. Everyone else flies electric.

This is no comment about whether they are fantastic helis to fly or better or worse.

I'm always checking out the classified in both heli sites and I have seen quite a few Align helicopters in general. Tons of 600s and a good amount of 700s. It's all about the numbers though. There are gobs of Align helicopters out there so it stands to reason there will be a lot for sale. E vs N is a false economy. Anyone getting into E to save money on fuel must not be doing the math. Now, getting into it for the tech, power, cleanliness etc, I can see that. The Cost? Nope.... Every time I go to price out all that E gear I throw up a little in my mouth. This is for quality gear, not disposable stuff. $800 for an esc, man, it's hard to get past that....

Thumbs up

Im one of the Guys who just Sold my 700N yesterday on HF i bought it two years ago and only flew it for the first year and then one flight over this past summer where i blew up my YS motor up from too lean.. so i never fixed it after that...slowly sold everything off of it and yesterday was finally the day it got sold THANK GOD i hated that thing cause of all the fuel it sucks up and just the fact that i didn't like the heli in general ....

..................But the funds from that sale are cause i am now buying a 700 size Electric heli (Compass 7hv) just gotta sell my 450 pro and my Hatori exhaust pipe and them ill be ordering my 7HV BABY!! but yeah there was a ton on 700n for sale when i posted mine..i was surprized that i even got it sold....cause of how no one really into 90 size nitros too much anymore.....and the fact that there were so many to pick from but my was attractive to buy cause it was just a Airframe with no HEAD so that gave the Buyer the option to buy the FBL or FB of there liking...

Its all an illusion. Ppl still keep their 700 nitros. I tried to put up my stretched 550e fully loaded for a 700n and nobody cared to trade with me which now I'm glad nobody did. Its not costing me a dime to fly mine and just realized that.

Other than that there is not a lot of 700n on the for sale forum.

I agree completely.

The people I fly with at two local clubs fields love their Align 700n's. The sheer number of them means there will always be a portion for sale. You might as well say whats up with every body unloading there 450s these days. I obviously cant see the full picture across the globe when it comes to the Align 700N but it is not because its an inferior machine. Many will say its the best Align heli on the market. I personally like my 600N and 700N tremendously.

The state of the economy and fear of crashing($$$$) would have to be some of the biggest factors when considering to sell a 700N. It is not a budget flier for gods sake, its one of the most expensive routes to take in this hobby.

Anybody who has been in the hobby for a reasonable amount of time has owned multiple Align models and there are very legitimate reasons why. Are they the top of the line, best engineered helis? No, but they fit the needs of a very large percentage of people, hence their prominence in the market.. Until recently there were only so many viable choices when buying a RC helicopter.

Personally when I look at some of Aligns competition, I see a heli that is not that different other than some subtle improvements and relocating of the fundamental components. This is how machines evolve and is a common every day thing.

It is up to the manufacturers to keep up with the changes and decide what works best through their sales numbers. The most expensive and elaborate doesn't always weather the long haul.

I realize this thread is not aimed exclusively at Align but since it was mentioned I thought Id give my $0.02.
