I need some input from someone who has flown the hk 4020-1100 in their trex 550. I see it is quite popular in logo 500 but it's a lighter bird so will it be underpowered in the trex 550? I am planning on running 550mm blades and not really doing much 3d as I'm fairly new but would like the power to be there for it. I was thinking I would gain flight time and put less stress on the batteries with the 4020-1100 as opposed to the 4025-1100, I would appreciate feedback from someone who has run the 4020-1100 or both.

I have just installed the HK III 4025-1100 in my 550. Coming from the 600MX motor, all I can say is it does run a bit hotter, you have to modify your frames to make it fit ( dremel ) and it does have a lower kv rating of 1100, compared to 1220. This motor feels stronger in flight and I haven't bogged yet.

I am running a HK III 4025 with 550 blades no problem, castle 80 in Gov mode.
super fast and tons of power 13 pinon 112 slant main gear

Does the 112 slant gear fit the 550 hub or does it need to be changed as well? I was planning on running the ice governor as well but I've read the largest pinion you can get on the stock 550 motor mount is an 18 tooth so I wouldn't be able to get the headspeed I want with the 170 main gear.
