Default Individual Menu Set Up Videos

Ok guys, we need volunteers to help us fill each menu slot with a video.

They need to be short and to the point, follow the "K.I.S.S." rule.

We need a video for hooking things up, lets get one for Futaba and Spektrum.

We need a separate video for menus A-N.

While we are at it, lets get some Rx set up videos as well.

As videos are posted they will be sorted into this post, so we don't need them done in any particular order.

Any other relevant videos will be added accordingly.

***********************

Setup menu point A: Mounting orientation of the MICROBEAST

Setup menu point B: Swashplate servo frequency

Setup menu point C: Tail servo center position pulse length

Setup menu point D: Tail servo frequency

Setup menu point E: Setting the Tail rotor endpoint

Setup menu point F: Setting the Tail sensor direction

Setup menu point G: Adjusting the swashplate servo centering

Setup menu point H: Swashplate mixer

Setup menu point I: Setting the swashplate servo directions

Setup menu point J: Teaching the cyclic pitch geometry

Setup menu point K: Adjusting the collective pitch range

Setup menu point L: Adjusting the cyclic swashplate limit

Setup menu point M: Setting the swashplate sensor directions

Setup menu point N: Setting the pirouette optimization direction (by sutty)

I'm about to change the mounting pad on my MB, so that would give me the perfect opportunity to do Setup menu A.

ive done quite a few build videos for the MB and would be happy to break it down and do a video for each step. I was thinking about that very thing last night.

heres one that I did that has all the steps in it, complete with the lights and all.

While one video of all the steps is great, we want something simple for each menu so that people can click on what ever step they are having difficulty with. This saves them from watching the whole video or trying to find the spot in the video that pertains to them.

Once there's an acceptable video for each point, they will be moved to the bottom of THIS post.

I just did a vid for each of the setup steps. Let me know what you think, if people like them and we want to move them to the top, i can edit this post to remove them from here so this info is not doubled up:

this is just a quick one about entering setup to just adjust one setting, and skipping over others. I know some new MB users have worried about this so I thought id post it.

I thought I was going to do "A".

And "N" has already been done.

I was hoping to have a handful of guys contribute one or two videos each. But without actually watching the videos, it looks like they're all done.

I just like making the videos, and like helping others. I just figured that there would be consistency in them all looking the same, and being done on the same heli, so I posted all the ones I did.

There is no doubting that your videos will help a lot of people nexgen. They are excellent, and have a nice consistency to them. They achieve the intended advantage of being able to check an individual item on which someone may well be struggling, and they are for V2, and presented clearly, so from all these points of view I cannot fault them, so great job.

That having been said, I have to say I was a little disappointed that the thread didn't pan out in the way in which I think it was originally intended. If I am honest I was looking forward to seeing videos from multiple different contributors, different helis, different styles, and with the inevitable community feel that this would bring. Techincally, a loose collection of individual videos, with different styles, would probably be less useful than those that you have created, but I still can't help feeling a little disappointed that you did them all, practically overnight, making it difficult for anyone else to find anything to contribute.

Does this make any sense? I'm really not trying to be churlish about this, I was genuinely looking forward to seeing a variety of contributors. Again, I accept that this approach would probably be less effective overall than yours, but I was still looking forward to it.

To be fair though, I guess it is what is best for the people who are still at the point of needing the videos, and I would have only been watching them out of interest, not necessity, so I think my point is probably moot.

Sorry, I don't want to detract from your excellent work, but I still felt the need to say something, and I really hope I haven't caused any offence.

Cheers

Sutty

I understand what you are saying sutty, in fairness tho the OP did not clarify that one person could not do multiples or all of the steps. If everyone wants, I can just move these videos to a separate thread and then this thread can be used for community individual setup videos if that's what you or the OP wants to do. Since I didn't make these or any of my build/setup videos for vainglory or personal gain, rather as a selfless act to help the next person that may be stuck, I would not be bothered by that.

No, of course, I know you didn't do it for any sense of personal glory, simply to help out, I understand that, and your videos will certainly do that, as I said they are excellent. Perhaps I'm wrong about the OPs intentions for the thread, but I think bob must have had a similar feeling, based on the comment he made earlier.

As for moving them, and seeking individual attempts to do them again, what would be the point now, they are done, and done well, so I think that would probably be futile. Indeed, going further, perhaps the thread should now be edited for the inclusion of all your videos at the appropriate points, as was originally suggested, but of course that would be up to the OP or a mod.

Cheers

Sutty
