I use these settings...

Below are my settings for SR 120 on my DX6i.
Please keep in mind that these settings are done to my liking and might not be as good for you as they are for me
SETUP LIST
Model Type: HELI
Model Name: SR120HEL
Reverse: All Normal
Swash Type: 1 SERVO 90°
Thro-Cut: INH
D/R Combi: D/R SW: FM
Timer: SWITCH: INHIBIT
Range Check: INH
Power Setting: B US 247
ADJUST LIST
D/R&Expo: - Flight mode Switch on "0" (Low rates)
Aile 0 80% +20%
Elev 0 80% +20%
Rudd 0 80% +20%
D/R&Expo: - Flight mode Switch on "1" (High rates)
Aile 1 100% -20%
Elev 1 100% -40%
Rudd 1 100% -15%
Travel Adj:
All on 125%
Sub Trim:
All on 0
GYRO:
INH
THRO CUR:
Flight mode Switch on "0" (Low rates)
NORM POS
POS L 0.0%
POS 2 15%
POS 3 50%
POS 4 60%
POS H 75%
Flight mode Switch on "1" (High rates)
STUNT POS
POS L 0.0%
POS 2 30%
POS 3 50%

POS H 100%
PITCH CUR:

SWASH MIX:

MIX2:

REVO MIX:
Al on 0%
Now when your Flight Mode switch is on "0" your heli will be docile and throttle quite soft, good for indoors or for newbie mates, when you will switch to "1" everything should be twitchy, faster and more responsive. I'd play with the Expo % and Throttle curve to find your perfect balance in both Low and High rates.
I am happy with these settings as now the SR120 flies as fast as it can and feels like a big heli. Waiting for swashplate mods ..

You can set your travel adjust to 125%? What does that offer and is it bad on the servos?

Default "increasing motor power" function

Hello.
I hope, the part of my settings will helpful for somebody. What's do it?
The setting provide "increasing motor power" in a moment changing a direction your heli !
The "increasing motor power" function switch "on" and "off" by AIL D/R switcher. Compare helicopter how flying with or without the function. I hope you will enjoy by behaviour heli.

I've been using your exact setup for about a month now. Before I was just using some simple setup. I like how the duel rates are setup. Though in flightmode 1 holy cow it is twitchy....but in a good way. She almost acts like a collective pitch sometimes.

I just purchased a 120SR and was looking for DX6i settings and came across this. It is my understanding that a servo has a throw/rotation tolerance from 1%-125% If you set your throws to the maximum allowable value, you WILL overdrive your servos.

I learned this in off road racing so I believe that the same applies to helis since were talking about servos.

Increasing the throw will improve performance but at an added cost.

Just a thought

This is a widely debated topic among Heli Forums I've visited. Many folks will say they run at 125% with no ill affects at all and others will say it could damage the servos. I do have a couple of my small Blade Helis set at 125% and have checked travel and see no ill affects, but who knows. Can't remember if my 120SR is set at 125% or not.

Agreed. I prefer HELI for my 120SR. I believe the ACRO setting doesn't allow for Swash Mix, for instance. I have my swash mix set to increase left aileron with forward pitch to automatically correct for the increase in lift generated by the forward-moving blades.

I just tried these settings out and they are great, the throttle curve is nice on 0 and the heli is very docile. I'm interested to try the 1 settings outside..

Default Using ACRO as setting

As was suggested, I tried just setting up my 120sr as a new model and as acro. No other settings and my 120 flew without any issues. I was having issues with it prior to this but now she flies and hovers very good. I am total noob who made the mistake of buying collective pitch helis instead of FPs. Quite an expensive mistake. So I'm stepping back down to FPs in order to properly develop my skills, especially orientation!
