Default FYI the 700 main 112t gear
I was looking at buying the kde main gear hub so I could use the 700 gear on my 600. Guess what the 700 gear works great without an aftermarket hub and bolts up without any modification.

You can get several different tooth counts for a wider range of gearing. Also it is much more durable and less prone to stripping. The only time I have actually stripped something is when it hit the ground. But the fact that it is more robust contributes to less noise a wider contact area on the pinion gear and better power transfer.
