Thumbs down Align Trex 600e pro dead duck ?

is it me or does the 600 fly like a dead duck ! , it has no comparison to other brand made helis like for example the logo 600.

i have been flying this helicopter for couple of weeks now about 50 flights perhaps, ok what i have noticed so far .....

tail doesn't hold very well ! not crisp to other brand models.

tail does not hold when trying a tic toc with a tail wag ( it just blows out and loose control of tail ) .

heli feels like a brick in the air.

cyclic response sucks ass

inverted autos ( blades loose lots of head speed when flipping over at last min )

i also experience a boom strike with dfc head ( slight dent in boom )

motor bogs down under airlon tic tocs

i am big fan of align helicopters but i am slowly getting fed up of the performance of there helicopters
i will not buy a align helicopter again i will go for a better brand helicopter.

my setup ....

align ds 610 cyclic
mks bl980 on tail
stock motor
stock esc
dfc head
KDE tail upgrade
v-bar pro

Wao,

This is the first post of this kind I read about the 600EFL Pro since it was released. Well, needless to say, I'm very happy with mine.

I hope you get the help you probably need to have the heli flying like you expect. All in all, this is what we all are after.

I understand, and you have the right to express your opinion.

Have you seen the videos posted about the 600EFL flying stock? By no means it flies any less than the other brands.

Have you seen Alan's videos? He flies the 600EFL all stock.

Im guessing at your setup is not quite rite, mines all stock and is a 3D weapon, but i did need to use trex 700 tail blades, cyclic is insame, power is just awesome!
Feels very light in the air, similar to my logo 600 i used to fly.

Mine's set up at 13* for cyclic and 13.5 for collective. Running at 2200rpm the thing is probably one of the faster helis I've seen or fooled with. It feels heavier vs older helis, but I chalk this up to a)it's a fairly tank like build and b) it's a 12s setup which weighs on average about 1.5 times the weight of a 6s setup.

Are you setup as per the manual but using gov mode? I found that with Align's usual dislike of govs they run the 600EFL with low pitch, but high RPM. Using lower rpm with their recommended pitch ranges ends up flying like a turd as expected.
Also, are you using 102mm tail blades if running standard head speeds of 1850 to 2200? Otherwise the tail will feel floppy, over shoot, and may blow out in something like tail down hurricanes.

As for the DFC head...well...I side with compass/sab on that one. Meh knockoff that works, but has some issues. I found the Compass/TracX head to be pretty damn sweet. Lowered it, but no so much I have to run hard plastic dampers to avoid boom strikes.

OP- what head speed are you running? It may feel rather sluggish on anything less than 2300. And as said before, with the slower tail gear ratio, you might be happier with 102mm tail blades.

This heli is heavy and does need high headspeed to fly decent. Still no comparison with a logo 600.

nice to see peoples thoughts on the heli

i have seen the helicopter been thrown around like it is light as a feather

but mine is not like this.

i am running 100 % flat throttle curve . putting around about 2500 rpm on the head

extreme speed when doing big air but not good for smack

I am afraid to bang the sticks hard as i had a boom strike last time I did that

here is a video of timo curlis flying 600e pro , mine does not fly that well ! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9D19Mpf368&feature=BFa&list=LLN6HbZjKGpC8 wtQNhsOxqlg[/ame]

What are you running for batteries?

Something doesn't seem right with your setup...

Very nice flying, after watching that video I'm surprised to hear that you think the heli isn't responsive. I did noticed the bogging while you were doing some aileron tic-tocs. The roll at 1:10 in the video was really fast. I would say that's some fast cyclic response but by 3d standards I'm a big noob.

Thanks dude , maybe it is just me I really don't know just feels to heavy and sluggish. yes the helicopter does not like those aileron its hard to keep the heli stationary ( I changed the pitch curve so that the curve looks like a s ) this reduced the drop in the tic tocs but still bog down quiet bad in my opinion compared to the videos I have seen of the 600e pro

maybe its just my collective management i really don't now

but then again i have only been flying for 2 years so i am a noob my self

The Nano Techs don't have a very good reputation. The ones I had were only good for mild sport after about 15 flights.

Yes, you are right, very slow and lazy performance. Are you sure that's not induced by yourself? Can you show us what you can call your standard flying with any of your better birds? Just to compare.
