T-rex -700DFC (F3N - Set up help) ?
Hello,
I have started F3N this year and had a good run so far, heli remained in one piece i moved to intermediate class and got a second place early in the summer, but i am only learning about helis for this flying style and setting up. At the moment i am starting to struggle with my set up, for some strange reason my heli won't roll axile, and it don't give me much confidense, also it now won't stay in one spot in a piro flip and doing a 4point tic toc it starts to drift... I normally fly on very high rates and like 3D flying, i have a Trex 600 Nitro and it has none of the above problems, any suggestions or what am i doing wrong here,i have tried everything but just don't like flying this heli much lately,it's too flighty for me, i have turned down head speeds i have went through all the set ups and i can't improve it.... Here is my current set up. -Gensace 12s packs 45c 5500mah packs - AR7200bx & satt - Hitec 9 series brushless servos HV (all new just fitted) - YGE 120Amp esc - 700 mill gryphon main blades - 110 mill tail blades - 800MX Motor Any suggestions on how to improve the stability of this thing, it's not nice for F3N at the moment. |

Depending on the number of flights, you may want to change the dampers. The DFC needs rock hard dampers with no play in the head block and feathering shaft.
Also, the DFC head is not good for low headspeed. If you get below a certain point, it wobbles and becomes a little unpredictable. Also, look at the new Align 3 bladed head for the 700. It uses the same DFC main mast, but does not use the DFC direct to swash drive. And, it is good at low headspeed. |
