Default Micro Beast problem

Hope someone knows the answer to this one
Ok Micro beast and AR8000 in a Trex 700e CC 160 hv Edge
When I turn on RX all ambers light and status light starts red blue purple and back to red
then amber on A and B
Then it runs up and down each bank of ambers back and forth for 6 cycles a thru g then h thru n
On 7th pass it stays a thru g
Status stays red
Will do this for several minutes the status blinks 5 times

Any Ideas ?

Hi,

this means the device could not calibrate sensor rest positions. In this particular case (Status LED error code = blinking 5 times) the Y-axis sensor seems to move all the time. This can have different reasons:

- huge temperature drift
- heli moved all the time during init
- power supply unstable
- mechnical pressure to the sensor (plastic lid of the device touching the sensor)
- or simply a damaged or bad sensor due to mechanical force or bad storage

Power supply: Remove all servo connections. Does it start up then?

Temperature: Does it start up inside the house after letting the unit acclimatize for some time?

Movement: Was the heli standing firm on the ground. No wind gust and nobody trampling around.

Pressure to the sensor: Did you use zip ties to tighten down the unit to the heli? You mustn't do this! Did you ever open the plastic lid and/or tightened the screws of the lid.

Bad sensor: Was the unit new, bought second hand or was it lying around in the chest for some time?

Has been sitting for awhile, Got it from a friend who swears it was never in a crash and it worked when he stopped using it. I do trust him on that. It's crazy the other two I got from him look used but work perfect and one of those has been in a few dirt naps. It was on the bench not mounted in a heli when I found it not working, I wanted to set it first then install.

If it wasn't on the heli, maybe it was too free to move around, and failed to calibrate the sensors as descibed above. If you were trying to hold it for example it would never work.

Maybe a fan or radio on the bench, or the ESC fan, vibrating the worktop, or any source of vibration.

The AR7200BX is aSpectrum product, which is part of the HH "empire".

I can't tell where you are at in the world (one of the benefits of an obscure location tag!), but I suppose this would be to their shop that works on Spectrum equipment.
