Where do you guys get your fuel these days?

It's been a long time since I've purchased fuel...last time I purchased it, the Olympics caused a shutdown of one of the main factories in China and the price soared, from ~$23 at my lhs to close to $40 a gallon for 30% nitro.

Now I'm on my last 1/2 gallon and I was wondering, what is the going price these days? Has it gone down in price or is it still more expensive than "Normal"? I haven't checked the lhs, but I wanted to get an idea of cost before doing so. I'm not opposed to buying it by the case somewhere else and having it shipped it if makes sense...

Your thoughts are appreciated....

To me shipping fuel doesn't make sense unless you get that deal that helidirect has on outage fuel.... I was going to get a case from amainhobbies because I use magnum heli plus 30% but the hazmat fee was 25 bucks. My LHS has magnum for 26 bucks and they come in 1.25 gallon jugs

the rapicon %30 is $100 a case shipped so its comparable to outrage and I believe magnum is right in there to.

after that your at the mercy of your LHS which around here are about $37 a gallon so you can choose 3 of the above fuels which are all good and and after that I would only pop for rotorage

Try the hobby events in your area. I found that Wildcat distributes fuel at the Toldeo show, for purchase without Hazmat fees. I bought (5) cases of CY30 this past spring for $19/gal. Michigan LH shops get over $40/gal for it.

Hobby shop around me charges $25/Gal for Coolpower 30% if you buy a case. $27 for club members. $37 if you don't belong to a club! :O

Like the others I get it from my LHS. I get wildcat 30% for 28 bucks after tax.

At a local event? I'll have to try that, though I've never seen any major vendor here in Houston. If you know of one, I'd like to hear about it.

$24.00 a gallon for Cool Power 30% heli at one of my LHS's. Even with a good local price like that I might try Heli Direct's Outrage 30% next time.

Sad part is, it is not always in stock. The CP at my LHS that is.

Rapicon is a good deal but they've been out of stock for the past few weeks!

So I had to buy the helidirect outrage stuff. This stuff was very smokey last time I used it, and their stuff leaked in shipping. This time only a tiny bit of leaking.

Rapicon is cheaper. Works great.

I only have one source locally, I pay $50 after it's all done and said for 20%... Only alternative is to have it shipped which is either impossible for some vendors or very expensive.

In very populated cities and towns you can get it from $15-$35 pending on percentages and brands.

The Helidirect offer is VERY appealing to say the least.

I bit the bullet 'cause I needed fuel for this weekend and purchased some 30% Wildcat at my lhs. $35 a gallon
