Default Esc motor combo

I just received email that the Diabolo is in stock and ready to ship. I will be using a 4525-520 Ultimate. Question is should I go Yge 160 or HJ120? I was thinking Helijive all the way, but I am now questioning whether or not the HJ will be sufficient for the 4525. I plan on running 2100 max with 12.5 -+ pitch.

Great HeliJive it is, I just prefer the gov on it although I might try the Vbar gov eventually, and the ease of programming Jive. Can't wait to fly it!!

HJ will work well except for the most gruelling high pitch runs. YGE 160HV is good too - I use one on my Diabolo but it is a bit more trouble to setup and has not such a soft start as the Jive - it does deliver more kV to the motor though and won't thermal.

Donīt forget if you order the first time a YGE to add in each case a programming card "ProgCard2" to your order to modify the parametres. On the Jive the factory presets are normally fine and you do not need the Kontronik Progcards or ProgDisc, the stick/beep pragramming is ok.

It will be interesting to see how the Kosmik 160A or 200A does with one of these big motors...

I'd heard of the soft starts not as smooth as Jive, but never new the fact with YGE and increasing kv... Plus I'm staying Jive cause I have J Log, running Jives on all my helis

OK... so I'm pretty sure I'm getting one now.

Motor Choices:
Xera 4030-3Y (Already have it) (516kV measured)
Pyro 700-52
Scorp 4525-520 Ultimate

ESC Choices:
Power Jive 120HV
Any others?
Will the JIVE do OK with the 4525?

Thanks!

THe Jive should play very nicely with the Y wind of the Ultimate - some people had probs with the delta winds of the 4525 LE with the HeliJive but many did not (me inc)

OK... cool. I just took advantage of a couple father's day sales.

Got a 4525-520 Ultimate for $310.
Got a JIVE 120HV for $490.

Pretty thrifty I think A jive on sale=
$100 for BEC
$290 for ESC
$100 for peace of mind.

Nice one!!
Just out of interest why did you go for the Jive and not the Helijive? Not that there is anything wrong at all with the Jive, off course, just wondering?

I too buy Powerjive's, because I already have both progcard's, and don't want to buy a progdisc. Not planning on using V-gov either, so the PJ suits me better.

Just because I'd read a lot of stories of people having problems with certain motors when using the Heli Jive. I'd prefer it to be as robust and flexible as possible. Newer isn't necessarily always better.

I can't believe I found that motor on sale... Hard to find as is!

Now I just have to wait till nov for the Heli. Bummer.

Think a black miniV would be OK? Should I get a blueline, or maybe even a silverline instead?

Cheers

I got the motor from rcdepot, but they only had one on stock... sorry. Seems like if anybody had the motor they only had 1.

I got the ESC from Readyheli using the father's day promo code. I just checked and they still have more.

Cheers!
