G570 6S or 12S?
I would like to hear some opinion. What are the pros and cons for each set up?

A buddy and I are about to get 570's and we are going with the 6s setup.
I like the efficiencies of 12s, but I want to use my other batteries from my X7 and the extra costs of the motor etc...

Wouldn't the Goblin 570 on 6s be a lipo killer like the old Align 600s were? I wouldn't go 6s on that large of a heli.

570 flies great on 6S. Scorp 4025-1100 w/ 22t pulley using Jive gov. 2420 or 2540 head speed. 4 minutes w/ a 5000mah battery.
If you want more powah on 6S you could go for the KDE 550-1200.

G570 6S or 12S?

Agree 100%. Extremely happy with the performance of this machine in 6S. May still give 7S a try (just to compare), but I don't feel like anything is lacking with 6S on this bird.

Due to the weight of the 570 being much lighter than just about any 600 out there, 6S is not a problem. It is based on the G500, so it is very light for it's disc size.

My original intention when I got the goblin 570 was to run a 12s setup ,already got the g500 on 6s,but to be honest that amount of power would be wasted on me as I'm more sport flying/big air stuff,, obviously would be more efficient though and would sound amazing !!,,, then I found this- on 6s with Quantum 4120-1200 !!

I would say that a 6s 570 would be a little bit harder on the packs but not a whole lot in the comparison you make. Some of the power systems available today can get pretty extreme on the 700-800 sized machines. Great point....

G500 is a lipo killer, it needs a lot of C and good lipo.
G570 6S is a serial lipo killer! The only cons about 570 12S are the lipo connectors in front (put them inside canopy) and the cable of the rear lipo (they can cut themselves on the frame). I've done a stick with heat shrink: |

G570 6S or 12S?
I've not had problems with either 500 nor 570

Me either. Most people that kill LiPos are running an unnecessary amount of pitch. Yet they will tell you 14-15 degrees is just fine.

G570 6S or 12S?

Yup! And/or improperly geared, poor collective management, etc. etc. Heck, no one is perfect, but these are high powered dynamic machines. If they aren't used properly, they'll let you know rather quickly.

+1, set up is key.. Poor set up, and or gearing will kill components pretty quickly.

I was hoping someone would come up with a good 7S setup, that could be a nice 1 pack setup for this bird.

Haven't bought the 7S packs yet, but mine was certainly built with 7S in mind.

Can the Quantum 4120-1200 motor be used for Goblin 570? I heard it is for Goblin 500. |

Lol... The question is answered on the video. It's a 570, it has that motor, it's flying (quite well).
