If this is your first heli then you should go through radds school of flight to learn to fly. http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html

Im using Hitec HS65mg http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...kg/12g/0.14sec and Futaba Gy401 gyro with futaba 9257 servo, this set works grate for me, but if you dnt want to spend so much on servos i bet that there is many others which are enough for this heli for learning, only problem with stock for me was that 3 of them went to the bin after first crash (gears cracked inside)

Hold onto your credit card, this is the lowest price I've ever seen for these servos. Great Hobbies is a reliable dealer with two stores in Canada, one in Alberta and the other in the Maritimes, and in Canadian $ no less: http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...d_id=HITHS65MS

And yes, these are the ones to buy for the swash but get something faster for the tail, when you buy your 'real' gyro. Other than that make sure to buy some decent landing gear like the Gorilla gear which never break. Happy learning, your dad gave you a great gift.

Default my blade 400

I love checking out everyone elses blade 400's, heres mine, seeing that I only got it yesterday, it looks pretty crappy when its only 1/4 of the way done, I have really just painted the canopy and swapped the horizontal fin with the one off my twister 3d storm. soon it should have a full cnc head and tail rotor.

Default My new to me Blade 400

Here is my bird. I picked it up used for X-Mas and it needed some work so I have ripped the whole thing down and replaced / repaired just about everything in it.

I managed to get a TREX 600 Nitro Pro with DX-7 controller fully built and the Blade 400 with the DX-6i with metal gear servo's for $500.00.

Here is a pic after I ripped the whole thing down and did a little customization.

Couldn't help but notice how close your battery is to your motor. I hope you don't fly with it that close. With high positive G's that pack may hit the motor when the backing on the velcro compacts. I figure you already know this, and you just had it this way for the picture, but I thought I'd mention it. Nice pix though.

I don't fly with it that close man, the marks on the motor is after crashes.
Thanks for the note anyways
