Default MB plus 500l Dominator tail issues

I'm struggling to get my tail to hold on my T-Rex 500l Dominator. I have followed instructions for ver. 4.15 stating to set the tail gain in the transmitter 1st but @ 58% gain it hunts & @ only 2% gain it wags, lower it drifts to the left. I need advice to get the gyro portion of the MB Plus dialed to hold.

Hi,

which ESC are you using? Do not use the stock RCE-BL70G ESC in heli governor mode! this will produce very inconsistent rotor speed and thus makes the tail kicking.

I have it set to 4-1, initial setup was 4-2 but heli wouldn't pick up head speed when trying to hover and any slight left\right correction would cause it to drop like a rock and it would not climb back into hover and hit ground like a hard landing.

Hello,

ok, here some other suggestions:

- make sure tail pitch linkage rod and tail pitch sliders are moving butter smooth. there mustn't be any hard or abrupt movement or binding when moving the tail slider by hand

- make sure thrust bearings in the tail blade grips are mounted correctly (not sure if your heli uses thrust bearings!?)

- make sure flybarless system is mounted firmly and isn't able to swing around, also it musn't touch the heli frame

- lower parameter menu point D (rate consistency/"heading lock gain part") on the Microbeast, in case you have a very slow oscillation/tail wag at high gains in heading lock mode.
