ESC sync/tuning
The controller (GU344) has never seemed to work right, as far as the gyro/heading hold feature. Could this have something to do with the problem below???
The ESC for motor #1 burned out, and I replaced it with the stock ESC. When I began the ESC tuning/sync for all motors the ESC I replaced beeps before the other three. I waited for the cycle to finish, unplugged the bat, restarted everything. When the motors/ESC begin the start-up phase motor #1 still starts beeping first and the other three together as they should. I have done this numerous times, I even tried each one individually, and still the same problem. Motor #1 always starts beeping first and the other three start up together as they should. Since #1 doesn't start right, the quad wants to flip-over to the left. I'm at a loss.... |

Little update on this problem.
I contacted a Guai rep and after going through the set up with him it was determined when the #4 ESC burned out it may have fried the controller as well. Which would explain the reason #4 would never sync with the other three. I was going to get the stock controller again but after checking around and reading a lot of complaint post, I decided to get the FY 901 (newer model then 90Q) since it also has self leveling. I suppose the votes against this one were about the same as the stock but considering how poor the performance was with the stock this might be OK. I'll post my "opinion" after it arrives and I get it installed. |
