Just got talked into this servo to replace the stock tail servo. Any tips and or tricks to get this to work? Do I need to do the beast x setup? If so, any changes to the standard?

I am not sure what you need to change, but you will have to change some settings in the BeastX.

Impossible to tell you. Servos may need reversed. You don't know until you get it all hooked up

you really need to go over the bx settings yourself and know it well and understand what each menu does but since there will be others who have same question, I'll post up my settings for the hitec HS-5065MG on my 300x.

I have a JR 11X and on servo reversal menu of my tx, they are all set at normal (for aileron and elevator).

In AR7200BX the settings are as follows:

Menus

B- set to 200 (blue solid)
H- set to 120 (red solid)
I- set to nor/rev/nor (red solid)
M- set to nor/nor (blue solid)
N- set to reversed (blue solid)

Of course you will need to go through other menu settings to set your servo centering, cyclic pitch geometry, collective pitch range, cyclic limits etc but the above menu settings on B, I, M, N will get your servos to work in right direction.

Please recheck my settings making sure servos move in the correct directions with your setup.

Gents I lead you astray in my original post. I am using the servo to replace only the tail servo...thanks for your quick responses though. My apologies!

it's probably is too slow for a tail servo. You might be better off with a Hitec HSG-5084MG. for cheaper servos that might work well, go with KST 215 or Turnigy 306g

I will try to take back to LHS. Sold as a good replacement tail servo with metal gears that is PNP. I had to cut a servo arm to find out that the commands are reversed. Not so PNP! Will just get a new eflite stock replacement. Thanks for all the help.

+1000 this servo is the best choice. Fast and bullet proof
