Well I was able to work off the black part. So thank you Viet-Lama.

Any tip on how to desolder the pins? Maybe I am over my head, but have a broken 4in1 now that I clipped off the bottom pins...maybe i can solder wire to the pins? Put would just like to replace them with paper clips or something.

Other wise I may buy your 4in1....it will support a HH gyro and brushed esc right?

Yes, the 4in1 is already connected to a brushed "King 2" 20amp ESC and theres a receiver included which is hacked for an external gyro. You can replace that RX with the brushed 3in1 and add the included Exceed HH gyro.
I only used it for a dozen flights and works pretty good. Not as well as the TeleBee but it does keep the heil straight for several minutes without touching the yaw.
This is the gyro, the label fell off and I clipped the gain wire since its not used with the ESky TX

I think you can desolder the pins. Make sure the PCB is clamped somewhere, hold the end of the pin with a needle nose plier, and heat the solder joint up with your soldering iron. You should then be able to pull the pin out gently. Don't overheat or by the way you should be able to get new pins from radioshack. Or you could in fact solder wires straight on the PCB or the remainder of the pins.

Default Still a little confused....

The 4in1 gyro should be turned all the way off right?

Next the 4in1 pot should be adjusted so there is no drift....and the HH gyro should be about 85% right?

ATV is the rudder end point and affects the gyro piro rate, where you set it is up to you.

Hi guys,

Does anybody know if you can buy a 4in1 with the HH gyro already fitted or is one doomed to do the mod?

I only ask because I have a V2 and it appears switches are required and to someone like myself who has not got a clue the whole procedure seems quite daunting.

Any help would be very much appreciated.. Thanks

Thanks VL, if no switches were required and it was like your excellent tutorial I'd have a go. Mmm given the number of HBFP's out there I think some entrepreneur would have cornered this market.. How long do you think 10x4in1 with HH gyro would last on Ebay? Oh well I'll stick with what I have thanks.

Question Pulsing main & tail motor

I have a HBFP v2. I have carried out the modification to the 4in1 and I have tried using it with the esky EK2-0704B Gyro, but i am having an issue with the main & tail motors pulsing.

I plug in the battery with the gyro disconnected and the 4 in 1 initialises ok.
I then plug in the gyro which also initialises ok. (In order to get it to lock, I plug the yellow wire into ch5 on the receiver, and I have removed the red wire from the gyro plug, so that it only powers up when I plug the 4 in 1 into it).

Initially i set the gain on the 4 in 1 to zero, and left the pro pot where it was before. I then set the delay on the gyro to about 85% and the limit to 100%. As I throttle up both motors start pulsing.

I have tried every permutation I can think of with regard to adjustments on the gyro and 4 in 1, but all to no avail.

When I disconnect the gyro and plug the lead I added to the 4 in 1 back into 3 pins I flipped, everthing works fine as exactly as it did before. So it seems as though the problem is with the gyro.

Any help, guidance or advice, greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

The Esky EK2-0704B gyro is a remarkably poor unit. Mine failed in less than a minute from brand new. I'd think about trying another make. HTH

Thanks to this thread I have now got a Turnigy 302 external gyro working on my HB FPV2.

Thankyou very much to all who posted with this great information.

I did the CP 3 in 1 mod first which basically replaces the standard 3 in 1 that exists in the Bee's 4 in 1 plastic box. I used the no-solder method, so its literally just plugging wires in and cutting a bit of the plastic housing for clearance. I added the 370 Super motor at the same time, which is soooooo much better than the stock motor - can easily hover and it only gets warm in comparison to the red hot stock HB motor.

By the way, regarding initialisation of the external gyro, with this setup it is working 95% of the time. Occasionally the gyro doesnt initialise, so I just disconnect the battery and try again - didnt bother putting a switch in place.

Does anyone know if the Walkera WK-G006 would work with this mod?

Thanks

I tried the hack with this gyro but could not get it to work. The gyro had power and initialized but could not get the tail motor to move from moving the rudder stick or gyro. So I plugged in a servo to the gyro and I was getting movement so for some reason the gyro and esc in the 4in1 don't like each other. Any thoughts?

What is another way to fit a separate gyro I like the idea of heading hold to help control the heli as I'm learning.

Regards

Dan
