Default Setup and Preorder Q's

Greetings, all,

Just a few general questions... When pre-ordering the Diabolo from Minicopter, about how long does it take for the order to be fulfilled? When is payment due? Is there any obligation for just placing a pre-order?

Also, I would like to port over the electronics from my Logo 600SE, anyone see any problems with this setup? I fly sport/light 3D and like to keep the headspeeds low (1400-1700rpm).

VBar Blueline full-size
Jive 80+ HV
Pyro 700-45L
BLS451 x 3
BLS251

I'm hoping the Jive 80+ HV will be enough, but I'm willing to go for the HeliJive, if I must. After running some calculations, it looks like my Pyro 700-45 will work with a 18 or 19 tooth pinion.

Welcome.
I orderd mine in November 2011 and just got the invoice to pay 2 days ago.
You pay when the kit is ready. There is no deposit required. I suppose there are enough wanting the kit to take your order if you change your mind.

Your equipment looks good for the Diabolo. The Jive 80 HV should be fine with sport flying and light 3D but it is always good to have plenty of headroom and would recomend the helijive.
Gerd will be able to advise on the right pinion nearer the time to delivery. He sends out an email requesting your preferences for canopy and pinion sizes. If unsure just ask him as I did.

Thanks, man! I may end up buying new equipment for the Diabolo, I don't know if I could get rid of the Logo... I wouldn't be ready for the build until this summer, anyway, it would give a chance to purchase all the components. What setup will you be running? I wish this forum on HF was more active, I've been using Google Translate to read through rc-heli.de, a lot of good info over there!

Yea it is a bit slow in here, I tend to hang out in the Henselet forum a bit and they are really nice and helpful.
I also go to these forums to get a bit of a Diabolo fix
http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t673688p1/

http://www.archeli.com.au/forums/sho...d.php?t=147383

My setup is as follows, there is a sticky here in the minicopter forum showing a few of our setups. you can also go to http://www.helifleet.com/minicopter-diabolo/i5478

Radix 710 main blades
Radix 110 and 105 tail blades
Futaba BLS 255 cyclic, BLS 256 tail (Running off 2s lipo unregulated)
Helijive V11 120HV
Pyro 700-52 long shaft 17 tooth pinion
Full size blueline V Bar 5.2 Pro
Hyperion Phase sensor
6 Nanotech 45-90c 5000mAh
EC5 Connectors, 4mm bullets to motor from esc.
Futaba R6208SB receiver
White canopy with red writing and gloss black windshield

I would hang on to the Logo and use it to practice on. I'll be keeping my 600 pro for this reason for now. Will be selling the 500esp.

I think it's nice to have a complement to the 700-heli. A smaller one that you can fly in smaller areas, if you don't have a big field nearby of course

I agree, Danny. I have a T-Rex 500 on the way specifically for 3D practice. Wanted something I could fly into the ground and not feel too bad about. Thanks for the pointers, sodhi! Be sure to post some pics once you have your kit! Looks like a great setup!

It will liven up in here as more Diabolos come into circulation - the Henseleit forum was also very slow for a year ! Many of the topics covered of course are common to the big electrics. MAybe folks would like to start posting some pics - as soon as it stops raining I'll get some up !

I've been asked to pre-pay 500 via paypal by Peak Helicopters !
I find this odd .
Has anyone had similar request ?

I paid the 500 when I ordered a few weeks ago Chuck was great and went over the bird and answered all my questions.I like the fact that we will be able to buy parts here in the US.

Seems like others also have paid a deposit to the US dealer, when placing the order.
When ordering directly from minicopter there is no deposit required.

I suppose locking in an order may in fact make some sense.

Its too bad that peak site is not a little further along.
Hopefully they can get that going soon.

May pull the trigger soon was holding out for logo 700 but august to far away for me plus hard to pass up the diabolo.

How does the Gerd at Minicopter compare to TDR ordering process ?

similar wait time meaning he goes down a priority list ?

current owner having any extended wait times when waiting for parts ?

I belive it is the same as with TDR, shipped according to "the list", but don't know for sure.
I pre-ordered relatively early, asking for a December delivery.

Parts orders are same as Jan, high priority. Shipped next day at the latest.

Very similar experience dealing with both of them.

FWIW : People seem very pleased with the service provided by the US dealer, from what I can gather. Maybe you can get your hands on a kit faster through him? He also seems to have a healthy supply of spares in stock.

machine's.
