Slide Shaft too tight over tail shaft

Hi all,

So I got a new Tail rotor control set today and am putting it on right now.

The problem is the Slide shaft fits too tightly over the tail shaft, it moves but not very freely, I would say the servo could possibly burn out with how tight it is.Im right in thinking that no matter how tight that shaft was into the bearing it wouldnt affect how it moved over the tail shaft right ??

Any ideas how to make it smooth as butter like the last one was ???

Something doesn't seem right. Mine slides along the shaft with no resistance at all. Are you sure the slide shaft has not been crimped or maybe the tail shaft is bent.

I hope its not been crimped, I took it off as gently as i possibly could when i got it out of the packet. Ive tried putting it on a spare tail shaft and its the same.

Funny thing is I bought some 450 V2 tail shafts by accident and I tried one of them from my spares and it slides across that perfectly fine, I would use that but the only difference is that the sport shafts have the pit for the nut at the top, the V2 ones dont.

So Im guessing that the only thing it could be is as you say its been crimped, I'll have to go buy one from my LHS tomorow (hope they have them)

So if i replace that tail shaft bush today does anyone know how it comes out of the bearings, i looked at the one i have now and once it is un-threaded from the silver Y piece it seemed stuck fast into the black sleeve with the bearings in it,

does it unscrew or should it come out on its own ?

Ok so i took the bush slider and my spare shaft to work with me this morning with the intention of going to my LHS at lunch, Ive been playing with it all morning moving it up and down on the shaft (sorry) and now its moving nice and free. It doesnt fall off on its own but now requires no force to move it on the shaft, smooth as butter.

Does anyone use the Microheli upgrade for this part, namely the whole tail link control, I know its far more expensive but if it eliminates this issue with the bush slider then i dont mind spending the cash, anyone have any experience with it the microheli part ??

For the third time now ive tried lo-titing the bush into the silver arm and its not holding, ive cleaned the parts of old loctite, applied new loctite to the last 5 or 6 threads on the bush, screwed it in until the bearing starts to bind and then loosened it out until it moves freely, but the loctite is not holding at all.

just tried it now and it opened with just my fingers turning it, loctite was left to dry about 12 hours, it should have hardened by now right ??

Im 1 try away from CA - ing it on

Curing time depends on temperature. There is a chart at the bottom of the following page that shows curing times for blue locktite:

I would think 12 hours would have given it substantial drying time but the chart shows 24 hours to be sure.

Make sure you are cleaning the parts with Acetone. Loctite has a problem adhearing to the anodized parts. There is a huge thread on this issue here. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=204170
I used red on mine and only the last 4-5 threads. Be very carefule not to get it in the bearings. The bearings are very sensitive to the "tightness". If you hold the bushing with needle nose pliars, and sneeze, you will probably distort it!
