I am just a novice and not Bert or Tareq so no flips or rolls inside the house.

Just got back from flying at the dome...this thing definitely screams...was only able to fly 3 packs. The raw power compared to my 130x seems higher. Both pos and neg climb out rates was better than my 130x. Maybe the metal swash and tailcase weighs my 130x down a bit. The power to weight ratio is higher than the 130x.

It's finally great to have an mCPX that doesn't have tbo. Not once did I lose the tail on pitch pumps, flips, rolls, half piro flips, and inverted fast backwards flights. Tail is amazing! Congrats HH!

I had the default 100/40 Dual Rate's and Expo from the manual for Elev and Ail but needed to turn my expo down to 30 for the cyclics to feel the same as my 130x. So far after 3 packs, I think I like flying the 130x more...it definitely feels bigger and more stable...not as twitchy. Maybe that's because I have to get used to the power of the mCPX BL and work on my collective more. I'm sure as my skills get better and I use rudder more, I'll like the 130x for its variable-pitch tail rather than the direct-drive tail of the mCPX BL.

Anyways, on my 3rd pack, I had my friend video record me. Before that, I had a bad crash where I lost a linkage and apparently did more damage than I thought as you'll soon see . I replaced with spare linkage and all was good I thought, until during my flight, my landing gear with battery came unattached and was hanging from the cord in flight! You'll see this in my video. When I got to it, both post were broken off the landing gear...neither were stuck in the frame...both missing. I think from my previous crash, the posts got brittle and just broke during this flight.

Pic of broken landing gear posts and video below...

All in all, I love it ...it will be perfect to interchange flying the mCPX BL and the 130x for the motors to cool down. My mCPX v2 will still be great for learning to manage my collective and flying inverted forward circuits & right side up backwards circuits which I definitely need work on. Now I just need my LHS to get their delivery of parts for the mCPX BL in!

Just flew another batt outside...not sure why I didn't notice it last night (maybe the adrenaline of a new heli), but the flip and roll rates are much slower than my v2 and 130x. I think I'll have to bump down my expo even more and raise up my D/R for both Ail and Ele over 100.

I also just tested my new Miveu POV Camera Iphone mount...pretty slick...got it for $49.99 here http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f146/ .
I think the fisheye lens that comes on it distorts the video way too much and makes the heli look much farther than it is...I'll remove the fisheye lens next time.

Took the mCPX BL outdoors for the first time today.

Tail wag is there, but hopefully I can find a gain setting that will lessen the wag.

Stock standard.

My friend Colin is the pilot and reviewer.

The key areas of interest for me are:
  1. power - the mcpx bl has a higher power to weight over the 130x. Rainbows are a breeze and tic tocs are achievable. Hurricanes and loops are also possible.
  2. tail holding - the tail held even during full blown pitch pumps and fast reverse inverted circuits. Yes, there is a slight wag but this does not affect the predictability of the heli.
  3. reliability - too early to tell. However, the lower weight and the lack of torque tube gears should mean less crash damage.
Downsides? It is more twitchy than the 130x which means more corrections are needed. It is also more susceptible to the wind. If the mcpx bl proves to be reliable, it will probably become my go to heli for trying out new moves.
