Shipping a turbine
Hi
hopefully my 44 is sold. Shipping this abroad. I have no problems with wrapping stuff safely. But how should I 'prepare' the engine. Start the heli? Then run it 'dry'. Remove engine. Carefully un-plimb, shake out any excess fuel not burned in the engine. Plug the pipes. Discharge the gas tank Any other suggestions? |

dont run it dry its good to keep things lubricated. just take the fuel and gas tube and join them together with a bigger diameter tube or a festo fitting this stops any small debris getting into the fuel/gas line and prevents any blockage. apart from that i would stick it in a plastic bag so any excess fuel ext stays in there and prevents damp getting in. keep the eletrics in a seperate bag and pack it all in a sturdys box with lots of polystyrene peanuts.
